All in this together?

Lawn signs sprouting in my suburban neighborhood state: "Graduating Class of 2020 — #AllInThisTogether." Our seniors chose that message, no doubt, because it's in use everywhere. But one more pronouncement of our so-called "togetherness" may make me scream. Across the country, some are more "in this" than others. It's all a matter of being essential. Or not. Or caught at a particularly good (or not so good) stage of your life or career. How do you prepare for the unexpected?

My dentist is non-essential. It's impossible to offer virtual dental services. Too bad for those who have gone without dental care for more than two months now. My dentist owns and operates a small business. I wonder how long can he continue to pay the rent without any income. Yet government workers and members of our news media are essential. Who makes these decisions: essential and non-essential? Using what criteria? I'm happy for those deemed essential and those who can work virtually. I'm delighted that a few stores continue to be open. However, that left a huge swath of the population wondering where the next paycheck will come from.

My hairdresser has been allowed (allowed!) to re-open her home-based business starting next week so long as she operates at 25% capacity of her former load. Too bad for the many customers who have waited for months for the regular services she performs for them such as perms and colorizations and cuts. She has only one hair-cutting station. Exactly how will she operate at 25% capacity? How will she deal with the pent-up demand of her regular customers? Did a measly government handout make up for more than two months of lost revenue, money that her household relied on but lost one day with no notice?

See my tag-line. If we’re all in this together where are all the laid-off and unemployed bureaucrats, government workers and public school teachers?

Excellent point, but are private school teachers laid off?

“Excellent point, but are private school teachers laid off?”

I suppose that’s up to the individual private schools. Taxpayers aren’t covering those salaries it’s not relevant to my point.

I hope private school teachers are able to keep working, just as I hope all the food-service, hair-care and other workers at privately owned businesses are. I would love to hear about 50% of the workers at the IRS getting pink slips, but I suppose that will happen right after James Comey gets indicted.

We are not “all in this together” and we never will be. It’s one of those sappy meaningless statements that’s supposed to make us more compliant.

Stop using it.

“All in this together” has a subliminal translation. In the language of the subconscious, it is interpreted to “all comply”

Businesses can NOT continue to run a reduced capacity. ALL of this is a plan to with raw determination to tank the economy. The problem is, nearly half of the country from the bottom to the top is all for it solely for the purpose of causing just enough people to not vote for Republicans in order for the leftist, despotic Democrats and their media minions to get control of the country. With so many people in favor of the economic lockdown THINKING they will benefit, the economy, which might have survived, is going to be sicker than someone with the Wuhanic Plague.

Heard from a relative that their church - McKendree Methodist which is nationwide - has put out a directive that their churches will be allowed to have 25% of their congregation in a service - no hymnals or Bibles on the backs of the pews, NO SINGING - only humming....the pastor MUST wear a mask. I don’t remember if the parishioners had to wear masks also but they certainly do have to sit 6 feet apart.

Any church that goes along with that nonsense should cease to be a church but then that particular one has long gone against the tide of normal thinking!!

And people wonder why the Jews didn’t put up more of a fight! These people today have forgotten that lesson from the past...

It goes underground. My sister in central California has to call her hairdresser when she’s at the salon a give the secret knock on the back door. All windows are blacked out.

As “together” as in the past - another time that set our teeth on edge. We said the world was going to you know where in a handbasket but did we really believe it was? Took some time but here we are, folks!

We are the World.....
Imagine...
Where Have All the Flowers Gone...

“Excellent point, but are private school teachers laid off?”

My sister teaches 8th grade for a private school. She’s been conducting classes online, so the teachers at her school are still working and the school has no plans to reduce staff. Her students will graduate at the end of the semester - just no ceremony.

There is a lot of businesses that are going underground.

My friend frequents a cigar lounge that is doing the same.

“All in this together”

I can’t stand hearing that phase. When I am in Publix and the say that over the loud speaker. I immediately say out loud “No we are not” then proceed to the nearest isle with the X and walk down the wrong way.

My favorite little local coffee shop has been providing take-out food, but that is not making up for the owner’s lost income. I stopped by the other day to get her wonderful “California Burger” (we are actually IN California, too) and was able to dine by myself in her courtyard patio in the rear of the place. I saw three “For Rent” signs on small office windows facing the courtyard. These offices are never vacant.

I asked her about the vacancies and she said their landlord was demanding full payment of rent and those tenants were forced out because of zero income. I asked her if her landlord was cutting her a break on rent. She laughed, shook her head and said “No way.”

This puts the lie to the “We are all in this together” bull crap. If we were truly all in this together, we would all be making sacrifices: landlords would cut their rent for some period of time, banks would share in reducing interest payments from those landlords, and investors would take haircuts on returns from the banks (of course, all of this would be open to severe abuse, fraud, scheming and charlatans).

AND half of all government employees across the nation would be furloughed without pay.

I’ll believe we’re all in this together when government “workers” get laid off instead of sitting home doing nothing and getting paid for it.

All this will back fire on the Democrats. People are gradually waking up to see this is all about control, except for a few nut balls who support this tactic.

All in this together....

Is another phrase being shoved down everyone's throats.

Repetition is a form of mind control.

Wash your hands
social distancing
wear a mask
all in this together

One of the most prevalent during the 2016 election and the "fake news" build up to denying any thought other than their own was that every tv host in the country was caught saying the exact same phrase.

"...and it's a threat to our democracy."

There are youtube videos out there of the hundreds of them saying the exact same thing. All the way down to the local tv news said the exact same thing.

They all said it without even flinching knowing full well that it was all a ruse.

Here is just one of the many that you can find and it will infuriate you if you've never seen it. (less than 2 mins long)

Covidism is the new religion of the left. Its symbol is “the mask”.
It’s being pushed by the communists from the end of a gun wherever they can get away with it to replace Judaism and Christianity (but not Islam...they’re afraid of them because they shoot back).
