The arrest of William Roddie Bryan, the Glynn County man who shot the video of Ahmaud Arberys final seconds alive, constitutes a substantial expansion of criminal liability in Georgia, his lawyer told reporters Friday.
Kevin Gough, who has maintained his clients innocence, said there is no precedent for Bryans prosecution.

I have read that it is on the basis of his mental instability that he got out of serving time for his shoplifting conviction. I expect we will slowly get a more accurate picture of all the people and all the doings surrounding this incident.
Considering Travis McMichael's gun was stolen a short time earlier in the year, the safe bet would have been to assume this probable thief was armed.
Also, i've pointed out that a young athletic man like Arbery could have beaten the both of them to death with just his bare hands.
I also understand an autopsy was performed on Arbery. I fully expect the tox results will indicate drugs and alcohol. Just like with Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown.
I have read that the elder McMichael worked the shoplifting case and knew of him. Arbery's brother is also a convicted felon, and perhaps he knew the brother as well.
Also, Travis McMichael had a handgun stolen from his truck sometime in January, and supposing there was only one thief, it's a sensible policy to assume this guy is the one who stole it, and might be carrying it on him.
The Elder McMichael said he saw a video of Arbery stuffing something in his pants, and he said he thought it could be a weapon.
There is no logic in believing that he just happened to see something going on and decided to follow them.

“Logic” has nothing to do with it. It’s perfectly reasonable to believe that he saw or heard that something was going on and decided to observe and film the incident. Happens countless times every day due to the fact that practically everyone is carrying a smart phone. People are being caught on camera committing crimes everyday!
The head of the GBI is a Lavrentiy Beria wannabe.
...............................................
Yep! Show me the who you want charged and I will find you the crime he’s committed. Something to that effect!
The schumck made the big mistake of getting mixed up with two jackweasels who are even dumber than he is. Lie down with dogs.
....................................................
Just what I admire: No presumption!
It will come out that Mr. English did in fact contact Mr. McMichael about the recurring “visitor” to his property at night.
........................................
Yeah? Well so what? Would any of that, if true, constitute a crime?
Ya think thats how it went down?
.............................................
Could very well be. Certainly sounds plausible to me!
You need to be plagued with burglars so you can get the right frame of mind regarding them.
........................................
Ha! That’s a funny remark, but your point is spot on!
“Just what I admire: No presumption!”

I’m not required to withhold judgment.
That is what I have speculated, when McMichael was telling Arbery to “drop it” on the 911 call, they believed he was armed. Why? Because Fake Cop Junior left his hand gun in his truck and it got stolen.
I believe that is why he gunned down Arbery, it was retribution for the stolen gun. I believe that is why Daddy Dumb Cop searched the body, looking for his son’s gun. But it was never recovered.
Now they are claiming “self defense” on a “arrest” they screwed up with emotions about a stolen gun.
I wouldn’t expect *ANYONE* to get arrested in the case,

That statement and all those that follow it are well and truly said. Virtue signalers and race baiters will not rest until this assault victim, his father, and their friend with the camera are railroaded into prison to be executed or serve life sentences.
A trial will determine the facts of the case.
..........................................
A trial doesn’t always determine the facts of a case.
Stop. We very much know who is the aggressor.

Your entire post presents the most rational explanation of what transpired, and why, that I’ve seen thus far. Excellent, and thanks for taking the time to share it with us.
You 100% missed the point.
It goes to mcmichaels state of mind at the time.
We’ll have to see what comes out in the trial. I am intrigued about the object (hammer?) lying in the road as Bryan drives up to the scene.
Hope you experience enrichment.
Hey thanks! I've lurked for many years, just signed up to actually participate after being stuck at home for weeks thanks to this useless lockdown. Never really had the time or the inclination before, but for now I'm out of space for woodworking projects. My wife is happy I finally finished all the flower beds though.
I guess we can look forward now to a never ending series of long posts from you related to the Arbery case"
I've mostly been on threads related to Biden's in-progress mental implosion and of course the COVID-19 threads. Posts in the Arbery threads have mainly been to help inform about the facts, link to the videos available, and so on so that discussions are grounded in what we know and not what we might like to believe (one way or the other).
"until the charged are forced to go to trial and ultimately NOT FOUND GUILTY."
I'd be completely fine if a jury found the McMichaels and Bryan not guilty. I'm not looking for blood; I can't say whether the McMichaels or Bryan violated Georgia law with their actions. I can say they violated common sense by going out looking for trouble, but there's nothing necessarily criminal about that.
I just want a fair and impartial trial so all the available evidence can be examined and the law of the state of Georgia applied. If a jury looks at the evidence and listens to the testimony and decides the McMichaels did nothing criminal, they should absolutely be free to go. If a jury decides they broke the law and Arbery died as a result, then whoever among the McMichaels and/or Bryan are criminally responsible should go to prison for it. I don't think that's crazy. It's criminal justice 101.
