We haven’t indicted, tried, convicted, and sentenced the governors and mayors for seditiously ripping up the Bill of Rights in the first lockdown yet!!

As far as I’m concerned, this virus does not exist. My wife and I are LITERALLY more concerned about the flu than this thing. It’s laughable. Just drink your coffee and take your zinc supplements and you probably wont show symptoms of any virus at all. :)

Worry about wearing your seatbelt, getting Cancer, diabetes, etc. But worrying about this is a bit like worrying that a massive meteor is going to hit the earth. It’s a waste of time and effort.

I was one of the folks who smoked (in my case mini cigars) outside.

It turned out that the key worker bees and a couple of key managers in the organization were all smokers, and we made the important decisions for the organization outside in privacy.

The non-smokers never did figure it out. :-)

No way!

In hindsight, this one should not have happened. It was a reaction, perhaps an overreaction, to a great unknown. A weaponized virus from communist China.

Everything should be back open by now. And masks - they are great for vulnerable people, but they really do little other than mark those that want to be sheep. People in Communist China wear masks all the time. We are a free people.

I was working in Japan when the smoking at the desk ban took effect. The air in place was so bad at times that I would go take a leak even when I didn't have to take a leak in order to get some fresh air.

Then one Friday, it was announced that new carpet in the place would be installed over the weekend and smoking would henceforce be relegated into specially designated conference rooms with vacuum fans also being installed at the same time.

Of course, several of the hard cores had to push the limits. The office ladies would gently remind them and the gaijin 1% (me) would back up the ladies. Eventually, the one third or so of the Japanese men who didn't smoke would join in and the hardcore smokers saw the writing on the wall and gave it.

If there is a second wave of any significance it will be a mutated version of the virus. If that happens the vectors will be different. In 1918 the second wave hit the young and healthy.

Will America walk gleefully into a buzz saw? Asking that question without any context is a waste of time.

If the virus doesn’t mutate, I would expect folks to muddle through.

Not an emotional, fist pounding on the wheelchair answer that most are giving.

Who does that?
