President Trump is making good on his promises to “drain the swamp” and cut Obama-era holdovers from his staffs, especially the critical and recently controversial National Security Council.
Officials confirmed that Trump and national security adviser Robert O’Brien have cut 70 positions inherited from former President Barack Obama, who had fattened the staff to 200.
Since entering the White House, Trump has relied on staffs smaller than previous administrations and has noted how prior president’s had a much smaller NSC team.

Some of the stuff in there really made me choke, though. For example, the Federal Employees Unions are upset that:
◾The use of official time will be severely restricted. Official time is the system under which federal employees are paid salary and benefits working on behalf of the union rather than performing other work. Federal employees will not be allowed to spend more than 25 percent of their time on union or other non-agency business.
Good God, when I was last privately employed & paid on the clock (as opposed to my present self-employment), if I had farted around even 10% of the time I'd have been out on my butt. And I thought my bosses were pretty lenient, compared to other jobs I'd had.
Some good Fed employees won't mind though. My brother works for the VA and tries to do the job of two "100%" people because of crappy employees the VA can't get rid of. Maybe now they can...
There are a few that I trust in the GOP (Nunes, Jordan, etc) but even the ones who have been doing well lately (McConnell and even Graham) I simply don’t trust them to do the right thing in a contested situation.
Which is discouraging, but...that is where we are at. Right now, gotta take what we can get, and it is a heck of a lot better than it has been since January 2009.
He needs to get rid of all those people listening to his phone calls too.
I favor a policy that those in the NSC should be highly vetted especially to those that are not native born Americans.
The first guy he fired bought him a special counsel. These firings will lead to endless congressional investigations. Everyone wants him to clean house without seeming to understand that the Rats and RINOs are doing their level best to steal a president’s right to do so.

Well I couldn’t say really....but there’s a whole world out there with people who are hacking and trying to get to everyones computers. N.Korea, Iran, and other nation states have scores of folks screwing around. We’re also in an election now too so I expect all sorts of ‘interruptions’, so to speak, that can go on.
I still get phone calls regardless the blocks I’ve used etc. So they certainly can screw with our computers. it’s the age we live in “unsecure”....
Does this mean 70 people are now newly unemployed since they were not needed, or does it mean 70 possible job openings are now gone? I hope it means the former.
