A Wall Street firm has directed employees, when introducing themselves to each other, to offer up their own gender identity pronouns, all in order to show respect for all whose identity does not align with their sex.With similar policies, private entities and government agencies (including schools) appear unwilling to respect the reality that sex is not "assigned" at birth, but declared before and after birth by a person's 23rd chromosome pair in every cell of the body as either male (XY) or female (XX). They also appear unwilling to respect truth, transparency, science, and common sense.
Last year, cnbc.com quoted Warren Buffett from his annual shareholder letter:
The same wisdom applies to issues of gender identity. Lincoln's wisdom demonstrates common sense when compared to policies developed out of false notions that men can become women and vice versa, and that addressing or referring to a person of one sex with names and pronouns associated with persons of the opposite sex will increase the respect accorded to that person. Coercion, whether by government or by a corporation, will create not respect, but rather resentment.Can anyone seriously believe that a relationship conceived by compulsion and born in deception will engender respect? Only truth deserves dignity and respect. And it is only in an environment of truth and transparency that compassion, effective care for those suffering from dysphoria, and appropriate policies will ensue.

If someone introduces themselves to me and gives me their preferred pronouns they better be someone I absolutely have to interact with because otherwise I’m going to assume they’re nuts get the hell away from them.
Beat me to it. Anyone playing that silly game “identifies” themselves as have serious mental problems. As such, I would avoid them because they require medical attention which cannot be provided by me. And I would not trust any “work” done by them.

I refuse to play that game. I’m not going to argue with or insult the person. I will simply shake my head no and walk away.

My preferred pronouns are “Lord,” and “Master.”

Further, they are demanding that others refer to them in a conversation that references them but doesn’t involve them.
Well..
Then..
They’d have to call ME...The Queen
And use the plural pronoun, they - them, for singular, or else.
There was an episode on the old Star Trek series were a villain demanded to be addressed as Lord Garth.
Star Trek was ahead of its time.
This points out the simple solution this problem that I’ve been advocating all along. There should be only two restrooms, teams, dressing rooms, showers, etc. They should be labeled XX, and XY. People with matching chromosomes only, would be allowed in each place. There might be a very small group of people with 3 chromosomes, and they would be assigned on an individual basis.
Anyone might chose whatever pronouns they wish to be addressed with, but these would NOT be enforced by any governmental organization, based on the actual intent of the first amendment.
Decisions on facilities with plumbing should be based on the user's plumbing? That makes sense to me.
1. The human DNA and all it means to the development and maintenance of the human body says there is no such thing as “transition”. Surgical mutilation of the body and a lifetime of hormone treatments do not a “transition” make. An artificial pretense is all they make.
2. Treating identity dysphoria with “acceptance” of the errant obsession from which it comes is no different than an addict “accepting” their addiction and demanding society aid them in getting a lifetime of drugs to satisfy it.
3. Yes, fighting a major errant obsession or a major addiction are difficult things, and during that fight there is bound to be anger, frustration, anxiety, fear, denial and many other psychological and emotional hurdles to overcome. And yes, a lot of strong love and compassion is needed by family and professionals.
4. But denying that fight and succumbing to the obsession is simply wrong, and society does not have to agree to the pretense popularly known as a “transitioned” person.

It seems to me that the way around this is to discipline yoneself to ALWAYS refer to said person by Name - no pronouns at all.
You could have a lot of fun with that.
