By the time the House impeachment managers finally wrapped their opening arguments Friday, it had become painfully clear that their goal in this trial is simply to spend as much national-TV time as they can get denouncing President Trump as a menace to the nation and the world.
It’s not about proving their case, or even making a real case for new witnesses and subpoenas; it’s not even about convincing “gettable” Republican senators to vote their way.
You can tell by the way the “prosecutors” keep showing their contempt for those Republicans, from Jerry Nadler’s charge the first night that they’re basically traitors if they don’t vote for more witnesses to Adam Schiff’s blaring Friday of the hearsay report that the White House is directly threatening GOP senators — a claim clearly proven false by those same senators’ live reactions of outrage.

Actually Nadler’s fat mouth is doing turtle job for him in re: wittnesses. Could be we only lose Mittens and deny wittnesses 52-48.
On to acquittal, and strip Mittens of his committee assignments

The Dems have always been about creating diversions, running out the clock and looking for sound bites for their next campaign ad. The impeachment circus could end tomorrow and all it would mean is 8 months of Dems and the media crying coverup while they look for the next fake scandal. The only way to effectively shut them up is to vote them out.
The question then becomes WHY??
Are they trying to hand the early advantage to Sleepy Joe??
The Iowa democrat Caucuses are a week from today. I imagine the US Senators who are still candidates are irritated that they cannot campaign and cannot harass democrats in Iowa.
They want him to still be under a cloud when he gives the SOTU address.
Yeah that is a good answer... I am sure that is a large part of it.
I was really hoping Trump would just say you know we are going to delay the state of the union address until I know where we stand in this partisan impeachment trial.
I just can’t see how they think dragging any of this actually benefits them... I watched 2 hours of rebuttal on Saturday destroy the whole case that took them 21 hours to present (repeatedly over and over again). They exposed them for the partisan tools they are! I have friends that don’t normally pay attention to politics that are waking up and saying the same thing. They did not even like Trump, but now they think he is getting screwed!
But, I really don’t understand much of what I see from the entire left these days either though, they have ALL gone bat crap crazy.
I was thinking that they are hoping enough Republicans get tried of being sequestered so to speak that they’ll vote to convict just to end the boredom.
Over 70 District Judges seats need to be filled. Keeping the Presidents choices out is why. Can't be seated if the Senate won't recess or vote them in.
The Rats are making this crap up as they go. Whatever sticks to the wall is what they run with. The next crap is already being formulated and ready to go after they run this pony till it drops.
I assume they realize their leftist cadres from 2016 have lost much of their zeal, as none of the horrible predictions about a Trump presidency came to fruition. He didn’t force women to wear burquas, didn’t outlaw abortion or “oppress” homosexuals, didn’t deport all of the illegals - they were just 2016 scare tactics.
They’ll still have pockets of radicals to demonstrate, but far less than three years ago.
Failing impeachment, the Demonicrats will move on to even more openly seditious actions.
Now I think the real reason Pelosi delayed releasing articles was the timing of Bolton’s book draft to be given to WH for review.
Think about the timing of the leak. Not a coincidence. The book goes on pre-sale today and another tidbit. Bolton used the same publisher as COMEY.
Hmmm, wonder if Comey got a preview of the book and called the NYT.
Could be the evil twin. So many people willing to bring down a President.

I think that will backfire big time.
DJT is a far better orator than any of the Dems, AND the SOTU will have an audience 50 time bigger than the hearings.
They will quickly lose control of public opinion.
Democrats only strategy is to keep beating the dead horse until it moves.
