Devin Nunes: ‘Republicans have an active investigation into (IG Michael)Atkinson’

Devin Nunes told The Sara Carter Show that Republicans have an active investigation into Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson, who alerted lawmakers to the so-called whistleblower complaint that has led to President Donald Trump’s partisan impeachment in the House.

Nunes revealed that transcripts of Atkinson’s secret testimony will expose that the Inspector General either lied or he needs to make corrections to his statements to law makers. The transcripts has been kept from the public by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff because it is damaging to their “impeachment scam,” Nunes said.

The whistleblower, who has not been formally named by lawmakers, met with Schiff’s staff members prior to submitting their complaint to Atkinson. Schiff was chided by Republican lawmakers and many members of the media for falsely claiming that his committee had no contact with the whistleblower.

(Atkinson) is under active investigation. I’m not gonna go any farther than that because you know obviously he has a chance to come in and prove his innocence, but my guess is Schiff, Atkinson they don’t want that transcript out because it’s very damaging.

In fact, the whistleblower had reached out to a committee aide before filing a complaint, a story that was first reported by the New York Times.

“We really do need to hear from the whistleblower,” Nunes said. Everyone needs to see that testimony and the reason that it’s not being released is because it’s very damaging, not only to the whistleblower, but also to Atkinson himself.”

Nunes could not disclose the content of the whistleblower testimony but said “this testimony is really bad and…the Republicans have an active investigation into Atkinson.”

Endless wars & endless investigations culminating in a "report." The Republican political model offers very little to get excited about.

Because he’s a Congressman and not a cop.

Yawn! Wake me when these clowns are in handcuffs, headed to Federal lockup.
Until then...it’s all just more smoke and mirrors, more red meat for the masses.

After the trial, I’m betting the judiciary will go after the whistleblower and he will be legitimately exposed and the connections that will unfold will end the careers of many Dems....if they already are not out.

Not just that. Most of what was done against Trump isn't a crime, or at least not an easily identifiable one. We are under non-violent sedition, and thousands of workplace and system/process violations. DEMs break every rule they encounter, including basic intellectual honesty.

If the press properly covered the fact that ICIG Atkinson knowingly and deliberately took a case outside of his jurisdiction in order to commit non-violent sedition against the president, Trump would have cause to fire him. That position is protected so that only POTUS has the firing power, so as it stands now, Atkinson is protected by the dishonest press and its misleading framing of the issues.

50 USC 3033(c)(4)

Complicating this prudent housecleaning, Acting DNI Maguire is running mild cover for Atkinson.

WHEN IS ANY LEFTIST GOING TO BE INDICTED??

They break the Law all the time. This guy shouldn’t be able to ‘amend his TESTIMONY’. HE LIED UNDER OATH. CLINTON WAS IMPEACHED FOR LYING UNDER OATH, PERJURY. A LEGAL IMPEACHMENT. Time to start prosecuting!

But there have been crimes. Leaks from Comey, McCabe. The lying “whistleblower”, schiff’s Staff for fraud, Schiff himself for conspiring to commit fraud. There have been lots of crimes.

Not as many as popular though holds. Most of the leaks are not criminal, for example.

The "defraud the government" angle is novel, and actually what is happening is the government is defrauding the people. That's not a crime.

Ciamraella might be caught in a lie about whether or not he had contact with Congress before going to the ICIG, but IMO, that's a red herring. ICIG should have said "we have no jurisdiction over POTUS." ICIG advancing a case that is out of his jurisdiction is not a crime.

There is probably a hundred or so process crimes, perjury, false statements sort of stuff.

To me, in the grand scheme of things, the government meddled with the election, big time, and it continues to do so with impunity. False or thinly sourced claims of Russian hacking, Russian interference; wildly misleading characterization of July 25th phone call. Those falsehoods sway millions of low information voters.

But it is not a crime for the government to mislead or lie to the public. Lying is what bureaucracies do, and this fact is why the founders sought a VERY limited government.

Thanks for reminding me. There’s another. There is an article today that Atkinson is under investigation for the crimes he committed when he misrepresented the evidence to Congress.

That picture of Atkinson is too perfect. He has the look of a weasel and heavily-compromised liar. He also looks like a wimp who will give up others to save his own hide.
