A House Democrat impeachment expert just wrote an opinion article stating that impeachment is a process not a vote and that Trump could legitimately say he wasn’t impeached at all because impeachment is seen through the lenses of the constitution as a whole -impeached in the House and then sent to the Senate for the trial. You can’t have one without the other
I didn’t say he committed a crime.
I said he was impeached and it is delusional to think he isn’t.
I also said he will win in the senate and in November.

Though personally I think Pelosi has no choice. They went down this road, they set their own trap, they have to follow-through or they will demoralize their base and divide their party especially the 30-odd Democrats from Trump winning districts.
They had plenty of time to avoid this. They had their secret basement meetings and should have realized they had no case. That was the time they could have turned back. When they took it public the only hard evidence they brought exonerated Trump, as if they thought burying that in days of BS opinions and hearsay would distract and overwhelm the facts. Even then they could have dropped the case but they felt they had crossed the point of no return.
I wrote on another thread it seems to me they just don’t want to give up the spotlight. They have had 3 years of attacks on Trump and this is the culmination of it all - a big nothing burger. They don’t want to let attention turn to Trump and the GOP/Senate. They will try more crap in the future but they have basically exhausted all their best ammo and know that when Trump and the GOP get the spotlight things will only get worse for the Democrats.
In his mind, he was. It will be in the history books now. Of course he would say that.

Realistically, it often comes down to a Hobson’s Choice.
I’m suggesting that this wouldn’t have happened without the Dem House take over. Eff, who knows? Suppose the Dems ran the Senate right now, Trump would be [legally] gone. What would we do? I know how I’d feel, I don’t how I would act on it.
Lets say that the House fails to convene for the SOTU address and the Senate cant agree-hint.
Please lets consider THIS. Executive powers within the constitution..The President CAN do the following.
Section 3
He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in Case of Disagreement between them, with Respect to the Time of Adjournment, he may adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper; he shall receive Ambassadors and other public Ministers; he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United State
In short, the president under the prior circumstances, adjorn the congress till the next election.
Case closed, end of story.
