Breitbart ^ | 12/10/2019 | Sean Moran

Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) told Breitbart News during a press conference Tuesday as many as three Democrat senators could vote to clear President Donald Trump of any wrongdoing during a potential Senate impeachment trial.

Many establishment media outlets have speculated over whether some Senate Republicans could flip and vote to convict President Donald Trump during a Senate impeachment trial; however, there remains a distinct possibility many red state Senate Democrats could vote to clear Trump.

‘They have better odds of being struck by lightning than in booting Trump from office.’

they clearly have an ulterior motive...

The Rats basically dangled the carrot of Impeachment to win the midterms, and they were forced to deliver.

So they get their little “impeachment”, but it’s not going to go anywhere.

Yup.

That’s all they have and let them choke on it in 2020.

“.....better odds of being struck by lightning....”

For a brief moment that thought was a beautiful dream.

Not surprising.Rat Party Headquarters knows that there's not a snowball's chance in hell that the President will be removed from office. And given that there are several Rats in the Senate who "represent" states that DJT is expected to carry easily those Rats might be given permission from Headquarters to vote "no" on the charges.

It's the Rats in the *House* who have to tread carefully when considering voting "no".

Is anybody else bothered by the fact that 90% and more of senators have already made up their minds and that there are only a handful whose votes are not already a done deal? The senators’ role is that of jurors in the impeachment trial. Am I hopelessly naive to think jurors should at least try to have open minds until after the case has been presented to them? I believe Trump will not be removed because I don’t believe there is sufficient evidence that he did anything wrong, but I am open to the possibility that his opponents will (somehow) come up with enough evidence to convince 67 of his “jurors”.

I think its more likely the Senate will dismiss the articles of impeachment with prejudice.

Which means they cannot be reintroduced in the House again at a later date.

This is the price Democrats pay for their rushed, half-baked partisan hatchet impeachment job.

They have NO evidence for any of their allegations and they aren’t even charging Trump with committing specific crimes.

Geez.

With Mitch and Linda setting up a one sided trial where only the democrat floor managers present the evidence without any cross examination, anything can happen. Senators have two things in mind...first, CYA so that they don't get exposed on corruption and second, figuring out a possible way to get rid of Trump without any blow back.

“figuring out a possible way to get rid of Trump without any blow back”

I think it’s absolutely correct that almost all of the Republican senators are part of the insider network aka the “deep state” that sees themselves as the powers that be and that benefits from the continuation of “business as usual”. I have little doubt that they fear Trump as a possible disruption to that business as usual and would love to get rid of him. But Trump represents such a large segment of the public that it will not work to oust him just because he didn’t have effective defenders in a Senate trial because the rules for the trial were structured to prevent such a defense. The only thing I can imagine working is the sudden release at a crucial moment of some “bombshell” evidence that makes Trump look bad enough to give Republican senators plausible cover to “reluctantly” oppose him. Given everything that’s been thrown at the President over the last few years that has just bounced off, I’m not sure what would be “bombshell” enough at this point.
