STUTTGART, Germany — The Navy said it never received an order to halt warship maneuvers in the Black Sea earlier this year, despite testimony in a congressional impeachment hearing that President Donald Trump asked for the cancellation after he heard about it on television.
“U.S. 6th Fleet conducted our naval operations in the Black Sea region as scheduled in January and February 2019,” Cmdr. Kyle Raines, a spokesman for Naval Forces Europe-Africa, said Wednesday.
The question about a disruption in the Navy’s mission emerged during Congress’ impeachment inquiry into whether Trump withheld military support for Ukraine to pressure Kyiv into launching an investigation into political rival Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.

The U.S. has four destroyers capable of downing ballistic missile forward deployed to Rota, Spain. They form Destroyer Squadron 60 and it makes sense they would spend a lot of time in the Black Sea since that’s where the threat of missiles would be the highest. I doubt Trump would order them out of there.

In a match for the truth, I’ll take a military officer over a diplomat any day of the year, and I’ve know some of the top of each over the past 50 years.
This is a Soviet style show trial. Truth has no place in such a forum.
Didn’t Nikki Haley recently accuse two ex-staff members of being part of the resistance? Wasn’t one of them a high ranking, active member of the military?
Intercepted? Or, simply not communicated down the line? If Kelly is dirty, you can be sure there are military members still in place who sympathize with him and may be following orders left behind in his wake?
