Report: Mulvaney Thinks Impeachment Process Will Bring Landslide Victory For Trump

White House acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney thinks the impeachment process will turn into a huge political victory for President Trump, according to a new report.

In a senior staff meeting last week, Mulvaney reportedly said he believes the president could win 45 states in 2020, three sources who heard his prediction told Axios, noting that “he wasn’t joking or even exaggerating.”

Mulvaney also believes that the longer the impeachment process drags on, the better it is, politically, for Trump, these sources added. Mulvaney did not stipulate which 5 states he thought Trump would still lose when he made these comments, a source who heard them said.

His view appears to be based more on instinct than polling data. I have seen no polling that supports his prediction, and at this early stage, responsible polling analysts are extremely wary of predicting which party will benefit more from impeachment in 2020.

But it's possible Mulvaney is echoing the ebullience emanating from the Trump campaign. They are raising breathtaking sums online by telling supporters to give money to help Trump fight the Democrats trying to impeach him. (Axios)

Trump is not going to win CA, OR, WA, NY or IL for sure.

I’m inclined to agree.

I only hesitate to use the word “landslide” because I do believe that Democrat promises to forgive everyone’s debts will draw huge armies of lemmings off the couch and out to the polls.

Don’t be so sure. Maybe you should check some of the recent laws they’ve passed in a number of those states regarding the state’s electoral votes going to the winner of the popular vote.

Then he's delusional. The Democrats won 20 states plus D.C. in 2016. I sure don't see 15 that the GOP can flip.

That law only kicks in after states representing a majority if electoral votes have identical laws. If that should happen, it will go to the courts.

You have (for starters) an Art. IV Sec. 4 problem with those laws.

The problem with this next election is that the Dems are not going to be as complacent. Last time they were confident, over confident, that Clinton would win. I'm sure it affected turnout to some degree. They will be more motivated this time.

If one goes on Youtube and finds "The Young Turks" from election night 2016, you will see a perfect example of this. LOL, as the clock ticks away through the night, they can't believe what's happening.

Maybe you should. It doesn't become effective until enough states comprising more than 270 electoral votes have adopted similar laws. Even then it'll be challenged in the courts. It won't be in place for 2020.

Best Case for Dems was 15 states and DC.. with impeachment, they won’t probably won’t get 10.

They know this, this whole impeachment thing is NOT about Trump... the sooner your realize this the more you can enjoy the show.

This entire cycle for the Democrats, is about kneecapping the far left part of their base... It has NOTHING to do with Trump. They know they can’t win, (at least the smart ones do) however if Biden (or someone like him) runs and loses 15 - 35 the radical left will just grow in influence as they will argue “SEE! WE NEED TO GO FURTHER LEFT”... If however you put up a whackadoo leftist and they lose huge, that entire argument gets chopped off at the knees and the radical left loses influence and the party moderates for 2024 when they actually have a shot at winning.

So, how do you do this? Well launch an inquiry that is really about tarring Biden, and ensure he’s done.. and that you get a radical whackadoo as the nominee, while at the same time turning the Incumbents base enthusiasm up to DEFCON 5. Which is EXACTLY what this whole impeachment nonsense will do.

So you wind up with Warren, or some other far far left whackadoo.. Completley piss off the middle with a nonsense impeachment, and your whackadoo leftist goes down in flames.... The far left of the party’s argument is done... they lose influence, and the party moderates for the real battle in 2024.

My guess is Trump will indeed go on the offensive in OR, at the very least in 2020... and probably fight for more of those other states... because he’s going to be so solid everywhere else, that he will take the fight to any state he got around 40-45% of the vote, and may just surprise in a few of them.

My bet is Trump will win every state he took in 16, and most if not all states he got over 45% of the vote in 16, and will take the battle, as I said to the states where he got around 40-45% of the vote, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he managed to pick one or two of them off as well.

Trump’s most dangerous adversary will be voter fraud.

I’ve been saying the same thing for quite some time...yet many freepers reject voter fraud will play a significant role.

Trump will have to win every swing state by more than 100,000 votes

Otherwise the democrats will steal the election...’’

Bet there ballot fraud is going full swing right now..

That may be their strategy. If so it is destined to FAIL.

Socialism is the destiny of their party. 90% of their young voters have totally consumed the Kool-Aid.

There IS NO up-and-coming constituency for Joe Biden 2.0 in that party. And young radicals raised on Alinsky will simply not be kneecapped.

They haven’t passed any such laws. They’ve voted to join a compact that hasn’t gone into effect yet, so nothing has actually changed, despite all the misleading articles that get posted about it around here.

I am convinced that if the Dems continue pursuing this slash and burn unfair impeachment strategy they not only insure Trump’s re-election but the lose the house for at lest the next 4 years and end up on the outside looking in.

They can also thank the media, people like F. Chuck Todd and the hundreds of other leftist activists that are hyperventilating their tds on air and in writing - the media and the dems are HELPING defeat Dems with this course of action.

The 2016 Young Turks Election Night coverage is one for the ages. I’ve watched it repeatedly. Especially enjoyed Cenk Uygur’s “Brace for Impact” proclamation. Hoping we see a similar set of Young Turk long faces on the evening of Nov 3, 2020.
