I believe the anti-smoking crusade was the foundational step for the outrage culture.

It was only smoking then. Now look how far it has gone. Our weapons, diet, culture, energy and history is under full attack.

If people can't see how it began, they are part of the totalitarian problem today.

Not at all. But we are a veteran service organization and we are only talking about V.A. facilities.

You make a good point. Some day they will even try to tell us how big a soft drink we can have. :)

And heaven forbid they decide to.... VAPE! When they ar e made illegal, I look forward to hearing the lamentations of any dance club owner, the WWF of anyone who uses a smoke machine. Its the same technology and the same products (less the addition of nicotine)

To all of those I say..... suck it.

So VA employees, read GS Govt paid, and WS employees can smoke until the ban for them kicks in... I would argue in Court that this red flag is them retroactively in effect to al government employees. NO SMOKONG BREAK at work or during your shift.

Steve-
I don’t believe most civilian hospitals allow smoking.

But specifically to military... Please let us know how you evaluated degradation to fitness? For example, the ability to run 800 yards, rescue a buddy and return?

Second, overwhelming evidence points to smoking inhibiting wound care.

Let us know how these items were evaluated in your decision.

Why don’t you post your list of all prohibited behaviors that vets should not be able to engage in?

And tell us about your war service too.

Sometimes you had to look pretty hard to find them. ,,,

Cheyenne has a “bus stop” smoking shelter off the main door. Looks cold in the winter.

Enjoy making vets and their families seeking medical care a little bit more miserable. Jerk

My friend. We made our decision based on the freedom of veterans to make their own choice. Not active duty. And we are not promoting smoking. But we are promoting the right to keep the government from telling our vets what they can or can’t do at hospitals made for them

They paid a price, in theater or not, which most never do. Frankly if they want to smoke at the VA or not pay income taxes, to me it is a debt we cannot repay.

Like it or not, we all have habits and addictions. Just because you or I dont like thiers does not mean that their freedoms should be infringed.

Would be like me having the power to ban people from FR because I think what they are thinking is stupid...

A few weeks ago, I got into a bit of a discussion regarding gun rights with a co-worker.

He said he knew someone who he thought shouldn’t be allowed to own a gun and did.

I told him that at the end of the day, I must always defer to liberty.

That actually ended the conversation and left him thinking.

Personally I hate the smell of cigarettes and really like that most establishments are now smoke free, however, it should be the market that decides, not the government.

Yes. I have seen elderly vets hiding behind a pillor trying to smoke in the freezing cold. Not a nice way to treat out vets.

Smoking is dangerous and bad for your health. We need to be protected from ourselves.

The enemy machinegun and rocket fire didn't kill me........luckily some do-gooder is there to make sure Phillip Morris doesn't finish the job.

screw all these nanny state @5540!35.
