Over the last week or so, Gen. James Mattis has been running around hawking his new book, but it was revealed on Sunday that he's planning to cash in on his government service in a much more swampy way.

"What the hell is Mattis doing? Going from defending America to selling out defunding America."

Would make a better headline, imo.

Mattis is very impressive. There wasn't a thing I disagreed with during the couple of interviews I've heard.

I was especially impressed that he did not in any way, undermine President Trump.

Simply the author's opinion.

Mathis is selling his expertise.

I doubt he will use it to undermine the United States.

Mattis gets a lot of grief from the Trumpkins here, some of it deserved, but
he is a Marine's Marine...he would not sell out this country.

Whoever Steve Hilton thinks he is, he wouldn’t be equal to a pimple on Gen. Mattis’ posterior.

Not the first general to do that unfortunately.

No doubt that scam outfit Theranos put Mattis’s “expertise” to good use. He is quite obviously a garden variety military-industrial complex careerist.

"Whoever Steve Hilton thinks he is, he wouldn’t be equal to a pimple on Gen. Mattis’ posterior."

""...Understanding and intervening to beneficially affect political, legislative, and regulatory issues, including shaping public policy debates, maneuvering through regulatory processes, development of standards and regulations, securing public sector funding..."

The acquisition of public funding for nefarious purposes is a big negative.

It isn't patriotic to root in the public trough, imo.

Is Mattis still a bachelor?

Is there a problem with him not marrying?

General Mattis is a good and decent man.

It’s pretty ugly, actually. Naturally, Mattis will get a complete pass on this from his fellow Marines.

Mattis is a dirtbag and has been since the day he refused to send a rescue mission to his fellow marines and only one survived to write the book exposing mattis as the political hack that he is.

I don’t know who he THINKS he is, bt I think he’s a twit. His Fox show is terrible, IMO.

I think he's a neocon, warmonger.

Your history is flawed: it wasn’t Marines, it was a SOF team and Afghan soldiers who had been hit by US guided munition. Mattis was clearly not “read in” for the situation and the sole individual reporting the need for a medevac couldn’t tell Gen. Mattis what had happened or what the ground situation was. The distance to the casualties was 45 minutes by helicopter - a long haul by an unescorted hello into a potentially hot zone.

Gen. Mattis had choose to keep his helicopter crews alive, versus throwing them into a long flight into an unknown tactical situation.

Let me know what decisions you make when you make General.

What you think is sort of unimportant, since it’s unlikely that you’ve led troops in combat.

Staying on the subject of Mattis, wherever it was that he served in combat was no doubt completely & totally unnecessary. The enemy of America is entering from our Southern border, a border he was totally uninterested in protecting.

Says you, who managed to keep his precious skin intact. After all, how better can you avoid combat than by declaring the wars “unnecessary” or “illegal” or “ immoral”.

Spare me.
