Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz will soon reveal that former FBI Director James Comey took "extraordinary steps" to deliberately mislead President Donald Trump in an effort to "secretly ... build a conspiracy case against the president," according to a RealClearInvestigations report.
While Horowitz's investigation focused on the origins of the FBI's Trump-Russia investigation, with special emphasis on potential abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, Horowitz has reportedly answered why Comey told Trump privately on Jan. 6, 2017, that the FBI was not investigating him when the FBI was, in fact, already deep in its investigation.
According to RealClearInvestigations, Horowitz's report indicates that Comey concocted an elaborate ruse to corner the president.

According to Joe DiGenova and Victoria Toensing - two who are well-connected with the DC legal scene - on Lou Dobbs tonight, The IG’s report is now being held up until early fall at least because, since special prosecutor Durham was appointed by Barr, a number of people who had formerly testified to the IG are now returning to amend or change their previous testimony - supposedly the prospect of a hard-nosed investigator who would effectively uncover inaccurate and false statements has given religion to those who previously thought they could get away with less than the truth with the IG - we’ll see.....
Now we all know this to be so. What really will Horowitz report?

That makes it sound like people feel free to lie to an IG as long as no one else is going to look his shoulder and do their own investigations. Isn’t an IG as much a Federal agent as any other? IOWs isn’t it a felony to lie to an IG?
