Ted is as he always has been.
These are the stands he takes.
The people who left the site over his defeat wanted these positions.
A real conservative should have recognized states rights and STFU....especially since it ain’t his state. Only thing that moron knows of Nathan Bedford Forrest is Tom Hanks putting on a hood in Forrest Gump. If he had bothered to look him up, Bedford Forrest rejected the Klan after they started becoming radical. He also was a defender of civil rights and fought to defend higher education rights for blacks.
I’ll let you know later. He just has social media and I am mailing the essay.
Hurst and Wyeth and Lytle I guess are the three definitive biographies about 75 years apart
I own every book ever written about Bedford Forrest including Captain Little Ax by James Street which is hard to find
I own an original hardbound first edition of my grandfathers
Youre no Texan
He’s right of course , but I would be more impressed if he reminded him everyone that Forrest was a Democrat at the 1866 convention and that the Democrats were the ones supporting slavery and now they do it in the form of dependency on govt
Thanks.
“Below is another quotation, cited in David Barton’s work on the subject of the Founders and slavery, which also cites the fact that there were laws in the State of Virginia which prevented citizens from emancipating slaves”
So can we conclude that the case of Virginia farmer George Washington escaped Mr Barton’s notice?
I’ve heard that General Washington freed his own slaves upon his death; Martha’s weren’t freed, however.
“Forrest was a Democrat.... “
What are we to conclude from that? That he belonged to the same party as:
Andrew Jackson. Van Buren. James Polk. Franklin Pierce. James Buchanan. Andrew Johnson. Grover Cleveland. ?
