Emergency room patients increasingly leave California hospitals against medical advice, and experts say crowded ERs are likely to blame.

If you really need an ER it's best to show up in an ambulance.

California emergency room trips grew by almost 20%, or 2.4 million, from 2012 to 2017.

My guess is that this percentage increase mirrors the growth in illegals in CA.

Took my wife to the emergency room in a central coast California town. I appeared to be the only English speaker in the waiting room. A hospital employee came out and asked me for my $250 emergency room copay. This request was not made to any one else in the waiting room.

Heh, after they exit the clinic, they enter a corridor with guards that escort them to the interview rooms, and then....the buses.

Government controlled healthcare is NO HEALTHCARE.

Its because they are going to the ER for stuff that is not emergent.

Instead of providing healthcare for all, that no one wants, if the states want to provide for the poor and uninsured, they would open up more free clinics for non-emergency issues.

It would cost a fraction of the “Medicare for all BS” and it would give new docs a chance to work A LOT in a busy setting in exchange for paymnent of their student debt. And people would be able to get treated by the best educated staff available.
