WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump voiced confidence Saturday that North Korea’s Kim Jong Un would not “break his promise,” after South Korea said Pyongyang had launched several unidentified projectiles into the sea.

“Anything in this very interesting world is possible, but I believe that Kim Jong Un fully realizes the great economic potential of North Korea, & will do nothing to interfere or end it,” Trump tweeted.

“He also knows that I am with him & does not want to break his promise to me. Deal will happen!”

I think Kim Jong Un might want a deal, but I don’t that China wants to deal with another neighbor economic powerhouse.

I’ll take what Trump says at face value until he says he looked into Kim’s eyes and found him very straightforward and trustworthy and was able to get a sense of his soul.

I don’t know. Travel packages frequently include two - five destinations. A North Korea inclusion could actually spark even more tourism of China.

A bone for the press.....

Also a bone for Kim...Think about it Kim...Do you and your country want to remain substantially isolated for the next 20 years?

Or do you want to give up your dangerous toys...which protect you from nothing....and change your country's future?

China and North Korea will never be on the same level.

Slovenia Summit 2001 - Wikipedia

At the closing press conference, in response to a question about whether he could trust Putin, Bush said, "I looked the man in the eye. I found him very straightforward and trustworthy – I was able to get a sense of his soul." Bush's top security aide Condoleezza Rice later wrote that Bush's phrasing had been a serious mistake. "We were never able to escape the perception that the president had naïvely trusted Putin and then been betrayed."[3]

Trump says stuff for effect. Be careful how much you rely on some of the things he says.

I trust him to do what he promised. As for his daily tweets, I give him very wide latitude so he can accomplish what he promised to.

If he wants to make complimentary comments about Kim, I don’t mind. In the end Kim will out himself. Trump doesn’t need to overtly. He’s doing it on the QT right now > IMO.

Kim will hang himself or take the smart package.

When he chooses, we’ll know.

What Trump has said, will fade deep into the background, as it should. His comments will have been a service to us. Those who dig them up for gotcha purposes will simply have missed the Trump train.

One man can only do so much, but Trump has done plenty.

We have the deep state on a viewing light, being revealed like an old x-ray right now, due to his clever moves.

Sometime I wonder if Bush even has a soul.

This is the guy had held the barn door open for millions more invaders. His promise to give out amnesty like candy canes was legendary. Illegal immigration shot up to between 2-3 million a year.

The the rat bastard and the halfrican who followed addressed illegal immigration as 11 million, even though there were nine million when Bush came into office.

The whole family is worthless.

Kim isn’t nuts. He’s very calculating though, and the last missile test was short range. Just a show. He wants a deal.

But, the above written, at some point without a deal, I feel a nuclear exchange has a greater possibility than we have expected in the past.. He has a lot of potential targets. So, a first strike by us is something that must be on the table.

Thing is, Bush was an idiot. Trump is not.

That is the money line of the day. If everyone would be as astute as you are on this point, Trump's rating would be up by 10 points.

There are too many people that love to fret and worry.

My outlook has always been that I trust God, and in day to day life, if I can't control it, I don't worry about it.

I don't tweet, fakebook, instagrab, do selfies, and my only electronic time waster is right here on FR.

I probably spend too much time getting into pissing contests with other FReepers {but I'm getting better at avoiding them} and I confess, that my consumption of 12 years old scotch or demon rum may propel me into water that is too deep.

I think that it may be time for some rum with coffee before I watch the utube replay of the results of the 2016 election. I wonder who won?

Don’t confuse public statements, which may have a purpose, with reality.

You need to demonstrate trust, to expect trust back.

"NUKE THEM NOW BEFORE THEY NUKE US!!"

That's a joke, right? Start a nuclear war?

People like John Kerry, Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, Barrack Obama and everyone employed by MSNBC and CNN don't understand how capitalism works it's wonders. Same with most of the 'anchors' at FoxNews...

And they've lived here under that capitalism their whole lives. Trump understands and he's proven it with our low unemployment rates and industrialization.

China and Russia will be making side deals with North Korea on sharing information Trump gives Kim on making his country work - and questions to ask... .

What Trump knows - a hands on working knowledge of capitalism - is the goose that lays the golden eggs. Trump needs to play hard to get on this one... the Chinese and Russians will know how to exploit treasures Trump's giving Kim...

Exactly. If you ever want nukes to be okay to use against the U. S., be an advocate of first-strike nuking by the U. S.

Once we use them against others as a first-strike, it gives them and others license to use them against us as a first-strike, or otherwise.

Nukes are used when nukes are on the table in a major conflict. Then and only then...

If we were attacked with nukes without using them against others since WWII, the world that matters would look on in horror.

If we use them and then someone attacks us, the world that matters would look on in curiosity.

Now there’s an idea. Thank you.

Smile.

Thanks for the comments as well. I agree with your thoughts also. None more than the Kaluah... Ha ha ha...

Have a good one.
