Did you read the article? Look at the last two paragraphs. AP originally wrote that Beto spoke in his “native Spanish.” After I called them out on it in a tweet, they went back and removed the “native Spanish” reference. But we have a screengrab of the original article.

What AP *should* have wrote is, “Beto O’Rourke, who is rumored to have changed his name from Juan Alfonso Rodriguez, a lifelong citizen of every South American country (plus America, too — making him eligible to be the inevitable next President of the United States), spoke faultless and perfect Spanish (his native tongue), answering questions in English (also his native tongue).”
