A thread to follow and discuss tonight's State of the Union address by President Trump here on freerepublic.com.
Just finished watching th SOTU. Greatest presidential SOTU ever. Trump did not hold back at all. We were born free and we shall remain free! He didnt even blink when he called out the evil of abortion that was on display in the past weeks. Greatest president of my lifetime!
How’s Kemp...doing...?
Amazing what you can do with an extra week to prepare.
I did Not notice that. Thanks for mentioning it. McConnell is behaving as if leading a coup, on our side of the aisle. Trump probably is done pacifying him, or else took him to the Wood shed sometime today. McConnel looked like hed taken a punch to the stomach.
PRICELESS Tweet, that one! Thanks. Trump needs us All to RISE to the moment, best we can.
Looks like she’s wearing Mr. Potatohead lips.
LOL! Stacy Abrams, the idiot who wants “voter reform”. Yeah right. She forgot to mention she’s totally in favor of *illegal aliens* voting in U.S. elections!!
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Bless you Auntie Mama but that was really hard to read.
He’s barely been in office a month, so I couldn’t give him a grade, yet. Some other FReepers might have a stronger opinion of him. We’re dealing with a n00b Governor north of the GA border here in TN.
AMEN!!!!
“The Truth Will Set You Free”
Maybe Trump gave Pelosi a bogus speech on purpose to distract her lol
I agree that it was a great speech overall. He started out slow and sounded a bit hoarse, like maybe he had been under the weather recently. But he got rolling after about five minutes and his voice cleared up and strengthened. Only thing I would have changed is taking out the statement that if Trump had not been elected, we’d be in a war with North Korea by now. That’s a stretch, but he made it sound reasonable so I don’t think that statement will cause any problems.
For me, the highlight of the speech was the story of the elderly man who was a prisoner in a German concentration camp. He and his family were put in a box car on a train and told they were “moving to another camp.” Then the train made a screeching halt, and had been stopped by the US Army. His father shouted out in exhiliration: “It’s the Americans...it’s the Americans!” What a great story. That’s what we stand for as a nation—freedom and the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness...throughout the world. (...and that elderly man was in the audience tonight...what a great story.)
He nailed it on the border wall. You know, I remember around 30 years ago when a friend of mine was going to college at USC in Los Angeles. Way back then he told us about the threat to American citizens from violent illegal immigrants in LA. It was bad back then, nothing was done about it, and it’s worse today. Illegal immigration is one of the biggest scandals in American history...the way the Democrats and RINOs have destroyed the rule of law on our Southern border for their own political benefit.
I think he’s going to get no funding for the wall from the DemoRats, but he’s not going to declare a National Emergency. Instead he’s going to build it through the defense budget, by transferring unused funding for unnecessary military housing and other facilities into funding for the border wall. I saw a post on another website about the law that allows him to do this transfer. I’m sure it’s all been cleared by Chief Justice Roberts as fully legal and constitutional, because Trump doesn’t go into any political fight without a good solid plan. I’m sure he has a great plan for funding and building the border wall. Go Trump Team! MAGA!
The suffragettes supposedly wore white when campaigning for the vote. This started last year as a commemoration of the 19th amendment. It has grown into an overall statement of support for feminism at the sotu and political events. (No connection to the Women in White of South America).
Sounds.Awful.
