WOW ... I din't realizze how long since I posted an update on Richie.
I've had a couple of issues and get side-tracked. :(
Sorry.

Not many changes in Richie's daily routine. BUT ....
He always has a smile for us. He seems to be growing like that famous weed.



He is still on the ventilator but no longer needs an oxygen supplement.
He is getting enough oxygen from his surroundings.
He still eats very little except from the peg tube.
He does love his IPad and his cartoons.
He has both physical and speech therapy 2 or 3 times a week.
Not sure how much good it is doing.
He still 'talks'. Wish we knew what he was talking about. :)



Richie is still sleeping better during the day than at night.
Since Brian is the 24/7 caregiver, he is exhausted.
He does not trust anyone else with Richie's care.

I pray that Richie will get his days and nights straightened out soon.
Last week, Richie went to sleep at 5:00am. Brian got about 3 hours sleep.

As you offer prayers for Richie, please offer a prayer for Brian.
Grampa is concerned that Brian is going to make himself sick.

Richie is a Blessing to our Family. Thank you for keeping him in your prayers.

There’s our smiling boy! Richie is growing so fast.

No more oxygen supplement needed, physical and speech therapy... All these things are little steps that offer hope.

Richie is so blessed to have a loving family. Praying now for his daddy.

Have they tried melatonin to help him get his sleep
Schedule better?

What about making sure he is outside in sunshine for 2-3 hours before noon?

Is there covered respite care for Richie. If so, have it be in the night so brain can sleep.
