Trumps already signed up I understand.......so the only reason Romney ran in Utah was to insert himself back in politics in order to run against Trump in 2020. He would not have done that if he didn’t have a donor support and likely why he’s speaking out so loudly, because generally ‘Junior’ Senators don’t, which is what he is now. So Romney likely would surpass Paul. But then again who can tell at this juncture.
I believe Trump will win a second term regardless who opposes him in the party, but I think Dems will run younger candidates rather than the oldsters...
Nobody will mount any serious primary challenge against Trump, especially not a proven loser like Romney. But as I said, Trump can only be re-elected once. After that, I like Paul’s chances. I haven’t seen a better suggestion.
