..."Saudi Arabia and the UAE have sent military forces to areas controlled by the Kurdish YPG group in north-east Syria, Turkey’s Yenisafak newspaper reported.

The paper said the forces will be stationed with US-led coalition troops and will support its tasks with huge military enforcements as well as heavy and light weapons.

Quoting the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the newspaper reported that a convoy of troops belonging to an Arab Gulf state recently arrived in the contact area between the Kurdish PKK/YPG and Daesh in the Deir Ez-Zor countryside.

This comes at a time when Ankara is preparing to launch an expanded military operation with the Free Syrian Army against the Kurdish PKK group in the northeast of Syria".

I do consider that a win.

As long as Saudi is willing to be supportive of our allies, that removes a sticking point for me.

Now, if we could airdrop the libs on Hezbollah positions, their exploding heads would save on the explosive ordnance budget, too.

Whenever I think of “Regional Allies” I think about the muslim troops just rape kids and no one does anything about it.

Oh well, let them sort it out. I don’t care about that entire slice of the planet.

Well, what do you know?
The Saudi’s finally doing now what they could have done themselves for the last 7 years. Get on it, then.
Those brave Kurds need help and they need it now!
We, on the other hand need to bring our troops home from Syria, and Afghanistan soon after.

“Do not doubt him for a minute.....our President’s got this!!”

Agree, and it’s another big win! Our troops come home and our “ally” does the dirty and pays for it.

Why would Mattis et al, be soooo against this?

I would be fascinated with an explanation as to how Saudi Arabia will bring freedom to Syria that exceeds that of Syria under Assad. Saudi Arabia needs to be driven out

perhaps this is why President Trump has remained allies with Saudi Arabia but of course the far left looms will never understand that Trump is smarter than all of their sorry asses

In this case, it might work. Turkey wants to kill the Kurds; the House of Saud wants the Kurds in place as a check on their rival.

Looks that way to me.
Also we have bases in Iraq on the border with Syria. That will keep things from getting out of hand.

(And a ping to an informed Freeper)

Musta been in the works before the murdered ‘journalist’. Some day when the novel is written, I suspect that incident was meant to thwart the troop withdrawal action.
Goes to show you can never believe the Main Stream Media.

I rather remember the Kurds as being the good guys.

To my mind....Turkey is the bad guy and an instigator.

Saudis are having their asses kicked by sandal-wearing Yemenis armed with very little.

Saudis are not welcome in Syria. In fact, there have been recent signs that the Saudis will accept the Syrian govt and invest money to rebuild what their other money destroyed.
