My fiancee works at a job where she makes a little over $2 per hour. She works for tips as a waitress. She’s hard working, and has her legal visa status. She was born in a small island in the S. Pacific. She and I hit a rough patch right after the baby was born (cutest little girl you could imagine), and she was looking to go on her own. Said she didn’t want to take a dollar from me. I was talking to her about child support and proper care for our daughter.
She started looking into the care she could get for her and our daughter while she built her life on her own.
As a legal immigrant, she was eligible for CHIP, School lunch (which didn’t help since our daughter was only 3 months old at that time). ObamaCare subsidies for low income.
That was it.
If she left and illegally crossed back into the US, despite having legal status, she would have been eligible for all the benefits listed plus some.
In our state, she wanted to go to school, and is required to pay out of state tuition, despite living here for 9 years because she’s not a citizen. If she left the US, and illegally crossed back in, she would be eligible for in-state tuition costs at a nearly 80% savings.
The unfair nature of what is going on with these illegals is insane. Leftists call me a racist for opposing illegal immigrants and I refer them to my mixed-race daughter. They then tell me that she’s a shield. I tell them the whole thing about the unfairness and they tell me I’m a racist. I tell them that our state is being insane, and they literally still tell me it’s racist.
There is NO reasoning with the left. Period.
The unequal treatment is nauseating. IT MUST BE ELIMINATED.
