Here's what happens if Palm Beach County can't count its votes by Thursday
Washington Examiner ^ | November 12, 2018 04:39 PM | Melissa Quinn

A Florida election chief's warning that it will be "impossible" for Palm Beach County, Fla., to complete its recounts of three races is raising questions of what happens if the upcoming deadline to complete the new round of tallies is missed.

All of Florida's 67 counties are re-counting their votes in the races for Senate, governor, and agriculture commissioner, and must report new totals by 3 p.m. Thursday. Palm Beach County, however, has said it won't be able to finish by then.

“I will tell you that the secretary and the legislature and the governor have been extremely aware that with the election equipment we have, the potential of conducting all of these is impossible,” Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Susan Bucher told the Palm Beach Post. “We have asked the secretary if there was any consideration to extend the deadline and he said ‘no.’”

If election officials can't meet the Thursday deadline, Palm Beach County will have to use the vote counts submitted to the Florida secretary of state on Saturday, according to Florida law.

Michael Barnett, chairman of the Palm Beach County GOP, told CNN that if the county misses the upcoming deadline, it would be “good news for Republicans because our candidates are ahead."

“If they’re not able to meet the deadline, the secretary of state of Florida may go ahead and certify the elections for our candidates,” Barnett told CNN. “In that case, you can bet your butt there will be lawsuits filed everywhere.”

I wish offices in the panhandle would find some extra ballots, like 100,000, and all straight GOP.

Absolutely , the President should order a federal investigation that verifies a large percentage of votes with the actual person who cast the vote. Every instance of fraud needs to be prosecuted to the fullest. Broward and Palm Beach have proven they are incapable of running a honest election and the feds should monitor every election for the next 50 years.

I know my ballot here in Wake Co NC can be easily traced to me.
When I register I’m given a barcoded ballot, it’s linked to my registered bar code. IOW my ‘secret’ ballot is linked to me.

The powers that be can, and likely do, know how I vote.

If a similar system is used in Broward Co illegal votes could be easily spotted.
A fictitious ballot wouldn’t be linked to a registered voter.

It’s possible that a judge may extend the time, but maybe not. In the Bush/Gore vote count in 2000, the Supreme Ct. stopped the court ordered recount and handed the matter back to the State of FL.

The U.S. Constitution says that states have control over the way elections are conducted and the SCOTUS ruled courts must allow states to follow their own rules and laws in vote counts. The law in FL is very specific about deadlines and what happens if deadlines aren’t met.

The only way they won’t somehow miraculously come up with a complete count in the Dem favor by then is if they become convinced that there is evidence of their fraud that crosses into federal territory and the Trump admin is poised to prosecute.

Incompetence on parade. Democrat run counties. We should be announcing the truth: Democrats are disenfranchising voters.

The state did the same in the Trump/Gore trauma. The totals first submitted were the totals officially used as per Katherine Harris, SOS. A deadline is a dead line. No dog ate my homework excuses.

The WI republicans, IIRC, had a beautiful strategy to overcome this in Scott Walker’s first gubernatorial election. A couple of fairly well populated R-leaning but distant counties sat on their totals until well into the night. They had no intentions of releasing their counts until the big cities were done. Result: the dems had no idea how many fakes to manufacture. They completely lost track of those little old rural returns and were suitably stunned when the tallies came in. Game, Set and Match.

It isn’t :Incompetence” it’s a façade masking the fraud going on in the backroom. they have the technique down pat. This criminality must NOT stand.

We live in interesting times that will not end well for anyone.

No matter the Socialists must not prevail. I once took an oath to the nation and it’s Constitution. That oath is still binding. The Socialists must not prevail.

One idea would be to keep all FL counts under wraps until all counties have turned in their totals. Have only one official from each county know the total count. Should that official leak the count, punish them by a million dollar fine and 10 years in maximum security prison. IF this is done by machine, then only send the results to the SoS or the one certifying the election results. This should counter the “oops we found xxx number of ballots here”. After the deadline is imposed and met, then should any vote be found or no vote tally is given, then blame the election official for not doing their job to make sure it was done. Hold the elected officials accountable to the people. Tell their voices were not heard because the local government they elected does not care if their voice is heard because those same elected officials were reluctant to do their jobs.

This scenario you can see the same party leaking too the county in question but the other party would hold the info so the county in question would still be in the dark on the total needed to be overcome. You might have one or two other party counties sympathetic but it would be too hard to guesstimate the final tally given the way polls have been these past years.

Orange County gets it job done with a budget 58% of Palm County!

Simple, really. The seniors working in the Orange County Democrat offices are younger and more agile than their counterparts in Palm Beach County, so it takes more people in Palm Beach to manufacture the proper number of "last minute" ballots to ensure proper voter fraud.
