I would bet that the average world citizen cannot name ONE thing the U.N. has ever done in its entire existence.
I can’t.
A simple google will show it, albeit mostly through a laundered point of view. GHWB managed to wangle a resolution to support Gulf War I through it. It hasn’t been “nothing.” But it has had screamingly inglorious moments like when Che Guevara was allowed to rant in it on behalf of Cuba.
Just being factual.
The UN’s Greatest triumph:
Trick or treat for UNICEF.
The rest has been all trick, no treat.
Even if they have done nothing good, I work with several lefties that are waiting for a one world government. They have a Utopian vision where everything is free and everything us perfect. I don’t talk to them much. They lack the ability to reason.
I cant.
They made English the international air traffic control language. 😁😆 I dont know how that helped me, as a controller, but beyond that, I cant think of anything they have done right. 👎
It would be easier to name events that have kept the UN stymied and hence, doing nothing which was the idea to begin with. But oh! what a playground they created for the world’s dictators.
I’ve long said that the formation of the UN was done to bring about exactly what we see today except it was not done in the light of day, not on the up and up. One of the largest jokes (not funny) to be played on the world’s citizens. Kind of like the first “we’re here to help you”...
A big hulking complex in NYC where tin pot dictators can mingle and feel like big cheese and the worst civil rights abusers of their own people can be named to commissions to curtail civil rights abuses! Such a deal! But don’t worry - it’s made to appear that it’s all done to include everyone and exclude no one.
Those assigned to work in that complex in NYC are experiencing the thrill of their lifetimes and then it’s time to go back to their hellhole of a country leaving behind unpaid debts to the City of New York.
What are you talking about? Look at all the great work they did with cholera in Haiti!

Well, inflicting disaster and poverty stricken countries with cholera, or raping children in war torn countries probably aren't the best examples.......but, I'm certain they done some good somewhere.........
I can name a few: Failing to win the Korean War, doing nothing to stop genocide in Rwanda, Oil for Food scandal shenanigans, and raping refugees.
