Curmudgeon Oats for breakfast Mark? Cant he just say thanks for a job well done and leave it at that?
That is insanely wrong!
No to Judge Kananaugh!
Yep. I have nothing to add...
actually i kind of disagree. because she is associated with women’s issues, she is taking and will take a terrible pummeling. of course we all say you should stand up for what is right - but the level that demonstrators and critics have descended to is brutal. i know she is now in physical danger and being maligned in a most ugly way by former supporters across the aisle. she and Kavanaugh now have that in common. doing what is right will carry quite the price for her. i give her credit.
Good speech, but not epic.
ALL Democrats should be held responsible for enabling such outrageous behavior, potentially threatening the lives of US Senators in their place of work.
Senator Collins is no hero, for sure. She's put herself in the position she's in by being pushed so far to the left. But this time? Mr. Levin should give her some credit. She finally said "enough is enough".
The focus should be on getting dem US Senators who are in Trump states out of office. Heitkamp and McCaskill, for sure, should go. They hate their voting fodder.
Collins speech was a brilliant team play by the GOP and Mitch McConnell. She was chosen to give the speech and as a team player she did. It cold cocked the left and by dragging out her answer for 45 minutes it made everyone listen.
Susan Collins - I have looked at the facts and will vote for Kavanaugh
Mindless people - cheers, celebrations, call her a hero
For doing her job?
When we have sunk so low as to celebrate Lindsey Graham and Susan Collins for doing their jobs, we have sunk pretty damn low!
This is most likely just marketing on the part of Collins.
She was probably always going to vote for him but took advantage of the issue to get her name out there.
It’s sort of absurd on the face of it to have a speech for a cloture vote.
I’ve said all along that Kavenaugh’s saying roe v Wade is super precedent should have endeared him to the leftists as the best theyre likely to get from any Republican president.
Hero has been thrown around with less meaning these days, case in point that got my blood boiling but take it from where it comes. The ABC today show commentator robin what ever her name is touted a basketball player she was about to interview for coming out gay as a hero and said it numerous times during the interview. This is the other end of the despicable agenda pushed by the left. To me a hero is one who puts him or her self in danger or sacrifices his or her life for another, period end of story. The left bastardizes everything to conform to their distorted agenda
****- No, not really. Never let the enemy win.
To make the whole nation wait for her decision while she supposedly figured it out and then monologuing center stage for most of an hour was a bit melodramatic.
Dan Rather: Collins ‘misses her moment to be a hero’ by voting for Kavanaugh:
Let’s not snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory, today. Tomorrow would be a much better day for jabs at what she did and why.
Having Susan Collins as a positive face to getting Kavanaugh confirmed is a positive for Kavanaugh, Republicans and Trump.
She is a moderate Republican woman known for support of womens issues
She is from the northeast showing Republicans Are okay to vote for in the Northeast.
Very difficult for the media and Democrats to attack.
Shows Republicans are being thoughtful and practical in deliberations about Kavanaugh unlike Democrats.
Every vote she sways to help elect a Republican in November is gold if we keep house and Senate.
Win the war and not try to win every little battle or denigrate commander for not fighting every battle. Trump in control and driving change with reluctant allies is better than Trump with a house and Senate out to defeat him at every turn.
Would we have been better off today with Luther Strange as A Republican Senator in AL rather than dying on the Roy Moore Hill?
Credit where credit is due.
Mark Levin speaks for me.
It takes courage for a Rep from a blue state to vote for Kavanaugh, especially given the pressure Collins was under from the local media in MA. Collins was a prime target by the Left. Levin is off base.
She did her job, no more, no less imo. That’s what all those Senators are supposed to do. The founders never envisioned that Supreme Court nominations would become bloodsport.
