MILLCREEK — Shelby Hamilton’s first thought as she lay bruised and bleeding on the ground of a Millcreek Starbucks was that she didn’t want to die this way. It would be a painful way to go.
It all began while Hamilton was working an early morning shift at the coffee shop near 3900 South and 900 East Thursday morning. Hamilton was standing behind the counter when a “haggard-looking” man entered, she said.
Instead of coming to the register to order, the man came behind the counter and asked Hamilton if she knew who he was. When she replied that she didn’t, he became angry and began beating her with his fists, she said.

Really? What is wrong with you? She was attacked out of the blue. She probably was in shock. How old is she? I am supposing she is young. I imagine she was too frightened to respond in anyway but to try and get out of his reach.

The official Starbucks policy as far as customer carry is to simply follow whatever the law allows. If your state allows concealed carry, you can concealed carry in Starbucks. If it allows open carry, you can do the same. I know I've done both at my local Starbucks.
OTOH, I'm pretty sure they don't allow employees to carry, and as such, she should sue the crap out of them for purposefully disarming her, and then not providing security.

Most (definitely not all) women I know will scream and cry maybe some ineffective closed fist pounding but end up dying in resignation.
Some, very close to me, refuse firearms lessons or even a trip to the range just to watch. The early brainwashing is still firmly in effect.

Yes indeed and he distracted the attacker to most likely draw him away from a line a fire that could possibly hit innocent bystanders.
No mention on the type of gun, caliber or bullet point type, but I’m thinking attacker left and subsequently tasered by police not realizing he was shot most likely small caliber with standard point.
A male Starbucks worker would likely either be a snowflake or inclined towards hairdressing or fashion design anyway.

Years ago I read a story about a young man who was taking a stroll through a city park. He had a black belt in karate. He was attacked by a single deranged person, and he got badly beaten.
Yeah, he should have been paying more attention to his surroundings. But my point is that this could happen to any of us. Standing in line for a movie, walking down a grocery aisle, etc.
