In Tennessee and Arizona the base and Trump were done with two McCain clones and they didn’t even try to get through their primaries. Trump coming out for a primary opponent in 2020 against Grahmnesty would probably send goober to the house where he belongs.
I like what Linda is saying but honestly, we know what he really is deep down inside, a South Carolina, backstabbing version of that bitter old leftist McCain. He’s not doing this to help Trump or Kavanagh, he’s doing this to save his bacon in two years.
That could very well be the reason. Alternatively, if Trump doesn't run again for whatever reason (impeachment, health, etc.), then Graham's recent very good conservative statements help to better position Graham to run for the 2020 presidential GOP nomination. However, I would still view Graham with suspicion given his history.
