I feel compelled to get something off my chest this morning about a profession I hold in high regard. I am a retired polygraph examiner and administered several thousand polygraph examinations during my career. I also was a Director and instructor of a national Polygraph School. The fact that Dr. Ford took a polygraph test and was said to have passed means nothing to me. Can a polygraph test be beat? Yes...it sure can. Actually the polygraph can't be beat the polygraph examiner can. As in a critical medical diagnosis, a second opinion is necessary for professional efficacy so too a polygraph test should be administered by two separate examiners following proper protocol. This most likely did not occur with Dr. Ford. She, with her Psychological background easily could have applied the principles of fight or flight utilized in a polygraph exam to give a false reading on her exam. So, no I put no weight on Dr. Ford's polygraph test but I do hold to polygraph tests, administered properly are accurate.
It was administered by her lawyers people
Her lawyer is a well known dyke activist
Katz
Galvanic is easy to beat, just tell the examiner you are diabetic and they have to disallow it.
A crafty examiner reinserts control questions along the way. Expected false questions that are often repeated are hard to reset for and give the same response to.
Again it is always highly subjective.
One does not need to “pass” a polygraph, all one must do is screw it badly enough that none of the responses are reliable.
DIA interrogated me for a full day...high pressure with lots of threats...wanting to to know: “how did you do that!?!?”
I told them I had practiced staying calm on a biofeedback machine and did lots of yoga. I was only trying to stay calm.
But the metrics were all over the place. They said they could not even ascertain I was telling the truth when they stated my name as written on my birth certificate.
“Is your name...” appeared to be their control question of last resort.
This was about a week before I was granted TS/SCI/Specat/LIMDIS clearance.
OK; Your the professional, so explain to me how I lost a job opportunity when I answered every question absolutely honestly and the machine said I lied.
Had no reason or motive to lie on any of the questions that were asked of me.
They were all pretty standard questions about honesty, integrity, performance, etc.
Exactly the same type of questions I would ask any applicant when I was the hiring authority for my Department.
I Told the absolute truth on every question asked.
The MACHINE SAID I LIED.
POLYGRAPH MACHINES ARE NOTHING MORE THAN WITCHCRAFT.
Their results are PURE BULLSHIT!
Very true,
If ya can’t convince ‘em, confuse ‘em.
I got really tired of the follow ups every 6 months, same questions, etc. Finally found one really professional examiner and stayed with him, no issues after that.
So many examiners think they are Sherlock Holmes, intel crusader, attitude problems, just a mess.
One hand.... Nope bumbling around the mechanism with both paws and finally reaching pay dirt and teenage Nirvana!
