Rudy Giuliani: Americans Would 'Revolt' If Trump Impeached
newsmax ^ | August 23, 2018 | By Cathy Burke

Rudy Giuliani said Thursday "the American people would revolt" if President Donald Trump was impeached.

In an interview with Sky News, the president's lawyer claimed there was "no reason" for an impeachment and called Trump's former attorney, Michael Cohen, "a massive liar.”

"You could only impeach [Trump] for political reasons, and the American people would revolt against that," the former mayor of New York City told Sky News.

Cohen pleaded guilty to paying hush money to a porn actress and a Playboy model at the request of a "candidate" — whom Cohen's lawyer, Lanny Davis, said was Trump — in order to influence the election campaign.

But Giuliani said he believes Trump has been "completely cleared" by Cohen's testimony, scoffing at whether it would be inevitable the president was impeached.

"Hardly," he said. "I think it's inevitable he won't."

"You have this Cohen guy, he doesn't know anything about Russian collusion, he doesn't know anything about obstruction, he's a massive liar," he added.

I doubt Rudy was referring to a civil war when he mentioned revolt, you yourself mentioned revolt at the polls.

The RATs have been and are trying to nullify the totally legal election of President Trump. We who voted for him along with many who didn’t will make it perfectly clear to Congress of any attempted impeachment that it won’t be tolerated.

I don’t think Rudy is nearly as diminished as you think.

But if he means that Americans would take open - and perhaps violent - action to reverse the impeachment, he’s dead wrong. And the very few people who tried would get the Ruby Ridge treatment.

Don’t get me wrong. There is a point where the average American would reach for a rifle. But if Trump is removed in a legal, constitutional process (however slimy) - that won’t do it.

Thank you for a voice of sanity in this thread.

Wow. Neville Chamberlain is that you? Wake up already! Tell you what Ma’am, you just stick to your knitting and let us handle the hard work. Cognitive dissonance can be lethal Ma’am!

“There is no need to throw everything away for one man. I’m sorry.”

Spoken like James Chalmers’ “Plain Truth” and Chamberlain’s “Peace for Our Time” rolled into one.

The abuses of power today go FAR beyond those of Great Britain that caused the Revolutionary War.

Living under abject tyranny leaves nothing to “throw away”.

The time has come to decide where the red line really is. When is enough enough?

I’m not believing that some posters here are “cowards” just because they disagree with you. I think “realists” is a better way to describe them.

Anyway, let me present two scenarios.

Scenario 1.
President Trump is removed from office by a strictly Constitutional process. The House impeaches by a majority vote, and then the Senate convicts by a 2/3 vote.

I would find that disgusting. But as much as I admire Trump, I admire the Rule of Law more. I would accept that result, then work like hell to defeat those involved at the polls.

Scenario 2.
The Democrats take back the House. Then Nancy Pelosi goes on TV, backed by a number of Obama-appointed generals and FBI officials. Pelosi announces that “as the representative of the will of the people”, she has arrested Trump and taken possession of the White House.

I’m an old guy. But in that case the deer rifle comes off the mantle. And I won’t be back home for awhile.

"the American people would revolt" if President Donald Trump was impeached.

Quite an understatement.

For the first time in any of our lifetimes, we have a president who is pro-American citizen. That is NOT hyperbole. That is a now-proven fact. Every prior politician, and every current anti-Trump politician, should be hanging from trees and lamp posts.

Considering the improvements in employment and the overall economy, to the benefit of most American citizens (as opposed to the benefit of Mexico, India, China, etc., and a few corrupt bastards here), in a short 18 months into his administration …

… the big question is: "Why did no other president in our lifetimes make even a stitch of an effort to create the same improvements for American citizens?"

The sad and infuriating truth is that THEY DID NOT WANT TO.

When I say that the Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama-[Clinton] cabal were and still are a bunch of genocidal maniacs, that too is not hyperbole -- that is a now-proven fact.

Revolt against whom?

If Impeachment happened in the House and the Senate agreed, VP Mike Pence would become President. Will people abandon the new POTUS because the Rats pulled this off?

Lots of pissed off People, but there will be many different People blamed for things getting to this point.

Some will blame POTUS Trump for giving the Rats the ammunition to pull this off. Others will blame him for not nipping things in the bud as soon as he assumed the Presidency while others will blame his ignorance because he chose to Hire unqualified people to protect him from this crap.

Of course we will blame the Media and the crooked DNC, but half the Country will view them Heroes.

I like Rudy, but he has done nothing to impress me when it comes to helping POTUS Trump. He hands the Media soundbites LIKE THIS ONE and it isn’t helping.

This isn't about Trump, and certainly has NOTHING to do with "Rule of Law". Rule of Law is gone now, right now, and as long as the criminal traitors on the left are free. This is about the very survival of the Republic, and your scenarios either way would entirely negate the ballot box, leaving but one box to remedy the problem. In either scenario, or any other, be prepared. "Accepting" BS results is only aiding and abetting the enemy.

Exactly.

People must think they are going to step outside and shoot at their neighbor with the 0bama 2008 bumpersticker on their ratty Prius hatchback.
It all gets a bit breathless on FreeRepublic at times.
Rudy Giuliani surely was not advocating going into the streets and setting things on fire, as some people like to fantasize.

People must understand there will never be that “shot heard around the world” moment.

Well said, but what is most likely intended is:

Scenario 3.
President Trump is removed from office by a Beltway show trial which uses buzzwords and rhetoric from admin law, pop culture and the Constitution, but Andrey Vyshinsky levels of due process. The uniparty House impeaches by a majority vote, and then the uniparty Senate convicts by a 2/3 vote.

Willard Romney gloats, Lindsey Graham simpers, McConnell’s and Session’s mouths hang slack. Congress turns to the next order of business which is universal amnesty.

Become a civil and civic activist. Change things. Expose and campaign against prosecutors who are political hacks.

Lets get radically serious, jury nullification. If you get called for jury, bear in mind prosecutors get on average 97% conviction rate. Don't let them get away with it on innocent Americans.

I would not see it as legitimate.
These same people went along with the Kenyanesian Usurpation.
Obama is NOT a natural born citizen.
We left the Constitution behind on Usurpation Day, January 20, 2009.

That sounds more plausible.
Nothing, NOTHING is more important to the Uniparty than protecting their 30 year bipartisan plan to fundamentally transform this country from the English speaking, orderly and free Republic we were to the multicultural mess we have become.
We would not vote to subsume the sovereignty of the USA to the New World Order, so they are importing people who will.

People must understand there will never be that “shot heard around the world” moment.

In this case I think you may be mistaken. We've reached a point where all legitimate processes have been so corrupted as to be useless.
