Laying aside the divine inspiration of the scripture for the moment, what you essentially said is that the Catholic Church produces writings that they may or may not even adhere to.

Other than that, that post *IS* rather astounding. They wrote a book that they don't even follow themselves and then they expect others to follow them based on what?

What they claim is written in the book that they don't follow themselves.

And they appeal to the authority of a book that they authored themselves that they claim makes them the *One True Church* which they claim they authored.

So in the very book they claim credit for, they put in there that Jesus said He would *found* the Catholic church and when questioned about it, they point to the thing they wrote that supports their claim.

See, Jesus says so. we put it in there ourselves.

Catholics just LOVE to point at John 21:25 to JUSTIFY the extra-biblical stuff that 'Mary' has taught the church; yet they fail the simple stuff that Jesus apparfently DID say:
