Troubles in San Francisco Push Some Voters to Think Republican
NY Times ^ | June 6, 2018 | Nellie Bowles

In this deeply liberal California city, frustration over crises around housing and homelessness is bringing some on the left a little further right.

At an upscale sushi restaurant, a few dozen members of the San Francisco Republican Party gathered on Tuesday night to watch the election results. Most did not want to talk about state or national politics, they wanted to keep it local.

A Conservative is a Liberal that’s been mugged.

If you keep jumping over piles of shit and needles while claiming how wonderful your elected leader is doing, no amount of reality will ever intrude.

I am stunned by the slavish, dog like affection and obedience they give to a political party which sees them as nothing more than useful idiots to bleed dry and make millions of dollars off of.

To be honest, during the Alioto/Moscone/Feinestein era....1968 to 1988...they fine-tuned the voting system and figured out how to ‘find’ another 10-to-15 percent of the vote.

Don’t forget that the People’s Temple crowd was a critical part of the Moscone machine and they repeated that success after the crowd left for Jonestown. I would take a guess that a minimum of 10-percent of the voters are either dead, or non-US citizens, or just bogus-non-existent people.

But when you look at anger and frustration, it’s a surprising number in the past two years who are fed up. But I don’t see how rotating the Democratic crowd out will really come to fix much. Housing is permanently screwed up....homeless people would have to be marched out of town....and you’d have to fix the budget problem (totally impossible).

As has been said, “The only way to defeat a liberal is to give them everything they want.”.................

It is absolutely amazing how easy it is to solve "impossible problems".

I remember one day when every single homeless person in the city disappeared in Hartford CT.

You see, POTUS was visiting (Clinton at the time) and the local Democrat pols decided they didn't want him stepping over and being panhandled by the local homeless.

I have no idea where the homeless went--but they just disappeared.

Wow! You make an excellent point! The RINOs who temper the lib desires through legislative “compromise” are actually extending the suffering of all those under lib rule.

When the debates came to Wake Forest U, Winston-Salem was suddenly invaded by aggressive homeless people. The Democrats were pushing the “3 million homeless under Reagan/Bush” narrative so they campaigned with a large contingent of homeless people to provide the optic.

Or they act as the scapegoats. The SF media would love to have a Republican to blame for these problems.

What we need is voters who turn Conservative for the right reasons and who remain Conservative.

If disaffected California voters want to be pouty and snipe at Liberal leadership... just this once, then who needs them?

They won’t do it.

The Left has skillfully used social media and peer pressure to convince 90% of them that “you’re an EEEEEEEVIL person if you even THINK about pulling that R lever!”

Wait until the new law on water restriction takes force. It is one thing to not water your yard, it is another to have to schedule when you shower, do laundry, or go to the toilet... all because the state government’s refusal to solve problems.

This may be the progressive’s Waterloo

What Calif progressives thought they wanted was total defeat of opposition from the right. Once achieved, they defeated the political center, then toppled the left of center. Now the pox that is the result of all their progressiveness can’t be explained away.

Yup, let the entire San Francisco community that votes in these libtard clowns wallow in the piles of sh$t, needles, and public nudity that they see as being acceptable. You made your bed, now lay in it!!!!!

I am waiting for the day Californication comes to the District of Corruption with hat in hand demanding a bailout of their unfunded pensions. I can only pray that DJT is still President and REFUSES. If - God forbid - Carmel Harris or Fauxcahontas is Pres they will bail CA out in a hearbeat.
