John McCain should have resigned his Senate seat the day he was diagnosed with brain cancer, so the governor could appoint a full-time, vigorous alternative who could fight for the interests of Arizona citizens. The taxpayers of Arizona deserve and are paying for a full-time Senator. That’s what they voted for.

Instead, McCain decided to remain a Senator. And so he is still in the arena and is fair game just like every other sitting Senator.

“Instead, McCain decided to remain a Senator.”

That’s because he has no identity as a person/human being/soul. He is what his job title is. Period.

But the governor, being a Republican, would have appointed a Republican to replace him. He may have resigned had the governor been a Democrat.
