“She lived a long life but lets not forget she was a New England liberal who supported abortion and same-sex marriage. as did her daughter in law Laura Bush.”
Thank you for stating the truth. I’m so sick and tired of being required to be politically correct.
Nobody requires you to agree with anything, or to be ‘politically correct’. All that some of us on this thread are asking is that you have some respect for the death of a fellow human being - as you would wish that others would have if it were YOUR mother - or YOU.
I have had friends and relatives who believed things/held views that I did NOT. But I would not spit on their graves the way that so many on this thread seem to be doing. I loved them, and their beliefs could not change that, no matter what arguments came up between us.
I’m sure that everyone who has said something judgmental about Mrs. Bush on this thread, has done something themselves that another resents - and I don’t think it matters to God whether we’ve done it on a ‘personal’ or a ‘national’ scale!
And I think we would all like it if, despite our sins, when we die, the people that we have known would forgive us and pray for us on our soul’s journey.
I don’t understand the logic of people on this thread who think that their expressed resentments and indictments are earning them points anywhere but in the realm of ego.
Fox News is pathetic this morning. All of them are fawning over how great of an American Barbara Bush was. Calling her an American icon. Franklin Graham even came on Fox and Friends to praise her. Not a one so far have mentioned her being a pro abortion, pro homosexual marriage supporter. Not a one of them have mentioned that she hated Donald Trump and said she didnt understand how any woman could vote for him. The truth of the matter is she was in all liklihood a democrat her entire life. The entire Bush clan are liberals. Ronald Reagan only chose George HW Bush as his running made to appease the liberal Rockefeller wing of the GOP. The Bushes were the worst thing to happen to the Republican Party in the 20th Century.
