If it’s so well explained why not just give me a simple summary?

Doesn’t the bill specify that he cannot build walls that are REAL walls or look anything like the prototypes he visited in California?

It absolutely boggles my mind that some scumbag actually GOT that into a bill. And I’ll repeat what I said earlier - that scumbag, whoever it is, should be brought up on treason charges... Monday.
/////////////////////

My understanding is that the money allotted for immigration is strictly for repair of “fencing” and employment of additional personnel. However, I have read that, since this is not a constitutionally mandated congressional budget, the president has wide latitude as to how, when, and under what circumstances the money can be used. It is an omnibus spending bill (now a resolution) that is appropriated to the executive branch to administer. The suggestion had been made that, Trump will use the Army Corps of Engineers to construct the wall as part of the 700 billion allowed for military spending and defense. The president will order the wall be built because the open border is a danger to our national defense. Since this spending resolution is not law, the congress cannot mandate how every dollar is spent.
In addition, this bait and switch funds the military to the tune of 700 billion. Our defense was gutted by Obama in an attempt to weaken us. This was necessary money that never would have been allotted by Democrats unless they got all their goodies. They salivated at the appearance of destroying Trump and took the bait. Now comes the switch as mentioned above. Lets see how it plays out.
Additionally, this expires in September. If by September Trump has his wall and has the military funded what do the dems have left to negotiate with? The next spending bill will go Trumps way or no way and that would be just in time for the mid terms. Let’s pray this is what happens.

“On the House floor, the vote on the full rule passed. And at the end of a long and exhausting day (and story), that means Pentagon money can be used to construct a border wall. Talk about governing under the cover of darkness.”

Sounds great, Libs love it when Democrats vote in the middle of the night. But then they whine when Republicans hide things.

But my concern is, why aren’t we hearing about this? Why isn’t Trump glowing? Why doesn’t Ryan mention this? Certainly they know the base is pissed. I don’t see why hiding this does any good. Unless it’s not true?

“But the monstrous military spending authorization is for the commander-in-chief to spend as he sees fit.”

Will there be enough funds to build the border wall plus to build up the military?

Excellent work Jay. May I suggest you make a thread out of that. It would clear up much fog in so many people mind. A HUGE red pill

Right! I could not care less about this idiots opinion. The significant thing about the article is that the congress struck out of the bill the prohibition against using defense money for the wall. In other words when the illegal alien lobby file lawsuits saying trump cant do it there is now evidence, legislative intent, to specifically allow him to do so since they specifically removed the prohibition. This has real legal importance in the courts.

I think trump is waiting to just do it before they run to court. If he announces it it will be another firestorm.

I posted too soon. I pretty much said the same thing. Plus, why wouldn’t Ryan talk about this? They know the base is pissed, I’d really don’t see the point of hiding that campaign promises are being fulfilled. With Trump in charge, conservatives don’t need to be embarrassed to be conservative’s anymore. So I thought.

At what point into his 4 year term am I allowed to get angry if planned parenthood continues business as usual with taxpayer money?

This is work on repairing existing walls and an extension of the wall. None of the prototypes Trump looked at in California can be used.
/////////////////////

That is true for the 1.4 billion allotted for border improvements. Here is what a few of us see happening.....
My understanding is that the money allotted for immigration is strictly for repair of “fencing” and employment of additional personnel. Sure they can. Look up Bollard Fence
Tall ones are called walls
It’s right there in the pictures Made of steel and aluminum (sound familiar)
We build that structure, brings those two industries back AND trains a work force (military) that once they have served their country will be educated ready to rebuild its infrastructure. JOBS JOBS JOBS

You mean the vague promise Trump made about a fence you can see through? Yeah, I’m sure they will get right on that, and I bet it won’t take long to construct, either.

A wall is not a “fence” — depending upon exact language and legal technicalities, this may be exactly how POTUS Trump has outsmarted them!?

I’m not holding my breath. When do we start acting like we actually won?

As for winning in general, about 75% of Trump's agenda is done, delivered, signed and sealed with a YUGE red tie. Perhaps you haven't noticed. But now that you do know, have you started making a wish list of what you want him to do in the next 7 years? Might want to get busy. Trump doesn't like being bored.

That’s good. I’m glad you defend POTUS but you need to check your facts before going wild.

I have posted Donald Trump’s record on Planned Parenthood & abortion to one of your other comments. The article is from Life News and they are passionate about the subject.

I despise Planned Parenthood but this money that was appropriated for them in this short term bill was not in Donald Trump’s power to prevent. Congress had the votes to over ride the veto.

I believe that Planned Parenthood will be facing legal actions on many fronts in the near future and this money may not be delivered. Also President Trump is the best chance we have for conservative pro-life Supreme Court Judges. That will make a big difference on the abortion front. You may not have appreciated my response but it’s hard to see how someone who really cares about the unborn could be so off base on what & who will really help & protect them.

He will get sued, but the National Emergency status of the wall will rocket this right to SCOTUS, where he should win.

Agree with Coulter and Laura Ingraham. This is one massive betrayal by Trump. There is no way to even put lipstick on this pig. MAGA is over, get over it. Pelosi is all primed to take control of theSpeaker’s gavel after mid-terms.
