RUSH: What I would say to you is dont get distracted. The real scandal here is not Facebook and Cambridge Analytica. Thats not the scandal. The real scandal is and remains Barack Obama spying on the Trump campaign. Barack Obama collecting data on Mitt Romney. Barack Obama spying on domestic enemies of his Iran deal using the American intelligence community to do so. That remains the real scandal, not Zuckerberg, not Facebook, not Cambridge Analytica.
The scandal isnt selling data consumers have willingly given to advertisers. Thats not what the scandal is. The scandal is the government choosing sides and misusing information it should not have. The scandal is illegal surveillance. The Mueller investigation is essentially a cover-up of all that Hillary and Obama did during the campaign to spy on Trump and to try to engineer a Hillary win so as to get essentially a Barack Obama third term.
Robert Mueller is a perfect example of how all this works. Hes unaccountable. Hes working for the Democrats. He has access to anything he wants. He has access to whatever money he needs to go get whatever he wants. And he can use it any way he wants, including creating new crimes to charge people with. Andy McCarthys piece on Saturday in National Review Online makes the point of how Mueller is doing that, all the while being able to protect favored politicians.

RUSH: Moments ago, breaking news, breaking news! There was a Senate Intelligence Committee press conference. The chairman, Senator Richard Burr (Republican-North Carolina), had this to say about his committee, the Senate Intelligence Committees Russia investigation. Listen carefully
BURR: Were now at a point that we have wrapped up one piece of our investigation, which deals with election security. Let me say this with a great deal of confidence: It is clear the Russian government was looking for the vulnerabilities in our election system and highlighted some of the key gaps. Theres no evidence that any vote was changed.
RUSH: There you have it. We could have told you that before spending all the money and time investigating. No evidence a single vote was changed. Inspector Mueller, Special Counsel Mueller, did you hear that? Now, whats little Adam Schiff gonna do? Hes not on the Senate committee. Hes in the House committee. Not a single vote was changed. Not a single vote. Theres no evidence that a single vote was changed.
Well, what the hell was this all about, then?
It was all about finding out how Putin worked with Trump to steal the election.
The only way you can steal an election is have control over the votes.

RUSH: Okay. Time to go to the phones. I have concluded here with my diarrhea-of-the-mouth monologue of the first hour. This is Vinny. Ha! Its Vinny in Long Island. Vinny, youre traveling all over the great Northeast. How are you doing today in Long Island?
CALLER: Doing great, Rush. Listening to you as always.
RUSH: Well, thank you. I appreciate that.
CALLER: Dont know where to start but Ill just start and Robert Mueller should have been fired a long time ago. Really, I say, Enough already. Throw caution to the wind here, because it just doesnt matter anyway. Trump has done nothing. But Mueller has and well say otherwise. This entire special counsel episode has been really in my opinion, anyway to paralyze the GOP Congress, not necessarily the president because hes about the only one moving along on his agenda.
RUSH: You know what?
CALLER: He has had
RUSH: Vinny, hang on. That is a very shrewd and crucial point, and theres another thing that the Republicans are relying on now to slow down and stall the Trump agenda, and thats Stormy Daniels. Were almost back to where we were in the first year, where the Republicans said, My gosh! If this guy is actually gonna be gone because of this Russian collusion stuff, we dont want to get too tied to him, and so they held back because they really thought that this has happened and that Trump was gonna eventually get caught and be sent packing. Now theyve got From what Im told, they have the same fears over this Stormy Daniels stuff, that somethings gonna come out of this thats gonna prove highly embarrassing and present real trouble for Trump continuing. But the point is, theyll latch on to anything to slow down.
CALLER: I agree with you a hundred percent. Unfortunately, when the media gets a hold of whatever Mueller says or does you know, as much as we may or may not want to admit it it adds legitimacy to it. There are too many people out there that still listen to the mainstream media and are going to follow suit. You and I know better and people like us know better, but, you know, were getting our own drip, drip, drip of waterboarding here every day.
RUSH: Vinny, what are you really saying here? You want Trump to fire Mueller as a way to end this cause thats ?
CALLER: Yes. Cause it Yes, a hundred percent, because it doesnt matter. Were getting hurt by this anyway, so get rid of him. Suffer the slings and arrows for the next week or so that the medias gonna throw at you, have a closed-door meeting with the Republicans, lock the door and say, Hey, guess what? Im the president, and this is it, and if you guys want to be in the majority in 2019, you better get in lockstep with me, because its just you and us against the media and against the deep state.
RUSH: What about Lindsey Graham today?
CALLER: Who cares!
RUSH: He was on the air with Hugh Hewitt, and he was asked if Trump should be impeached if he fires Mueller, and Lindsey Graham said (summarized), Hell, yes, if he does it without cause.
CALLER: I dont care about Lindsey Graham. Hes a back-bencher in my opinion. Okay? Hes a John McCain acolyte as we all know, and I dont really care what he says.
RUSH: Well, but the point is it goes to your point about getting the Republicans in the room and Trump trying to get them all aligned behind him. If he fires Mueller, you know theres gonna be some like Flake and the rest of these guys who are gonna flake off and theyre gonna join the Democrats in these demands that Trump be impeached or forced to resign or whatever the hell they would try to pull off.
CALLER: I think they do that periodically depending on what scandal Mueller brings to the forefront. I mean, weve seen this before, and then theyll gravitate back and maybe theyll get behind Trump for a little while. I just think this is hurting us. Its demoralizing us and, you know, it even demoralizes people like me who know better. Still, its disheartening to get up every morning and listen to what Robert Mueller has now conjectured (sic) up. And I mean you just blew the lid off this yesterday for me when you said hes now making up charges, which is incomprehensible to me.
RUSH: He is. He made up a charge, something about conspiracy to defraud the United States. Theres no such charge in the book. Hes just making it up, and hes not charging people with offenses that hes finding them to have violated. Making something else up. If you want to read about it, Andy McCarthys column at National Review on Saturday detailed that. Vinny, thanks, as always.
Rush is getting better by the day. Took him a while though.
Q said to trust the plan so Im gonna sit back and not do anything. /s
“”Barack Obama collecting data on Mitt Romney.””
Did Obama have some dirt on Romney collected by the FBI?
It is a logical reason for Romney’s poor performance in the latter debates.
Did Q get his computer and internet privileges restored from mommy yet?
I could see that with Romney, dirt on him would have destroyed him with his church.
Dirt on Trump didn’t matter, he’s Trump and he didn’t care. That kind of blackmail doesn’t work on a guy like President Trump.
Putin has the “pee tape” from the hotel room? President Trump would be like go ahead and release. Seriously none of this bothers President Trump.
Did comic artists ever make fun of Obeyme’s skin color or lips?
20 Mar: The Hill: Whats genius for Obama is scandal when it comes to Trump
By Ben Shapiro
In 2012, The Guardian reported that President Obamas reelection team was building a vast digital data operation that for the first time combines a unified database on millions of Americans with the power of Facebook to target individual voters to a degree never achieved before....
Facebook had no problem with such activity then. They do now. Theres a reason for that. The former Obama director of integration and media analytics stated that, during the 2012 campaign, Facebook allowed the Obama team to suck out the whole social graph; Facebook was surprised we were able to suck out the whole social graph, but they didnt stop us once they realized that was what we were doing. She added, They came to [the] office in the days following election recruiting & were very candid that they allowed us to do things they wouldnt have allowed someone else to do because they were on our side....
Not so with Trump...

not just geniuses, but “masterminds”:
20 Jun 2013: NYT: The Obama Campaign’s Digital Masterminds Cash In
by Jim Rutenberg
The campaign recruited the best young minds in the booming fields of analytics and behavioral science and placed them in a room they called the cave for up to 16 hours a day over the course of roughly 16 months. After the election, when the technology wizards finally came out, they had not only helped produce a victory that defied a couple of historical predictors; they also developed a host of highly effective marketing techniques that were either entirely new or had never been tried on such a grand scale...
To understand how it works, you must first understand the vast technological engine that powered the campaign but remained largely out of view of the public and the press. Messina, the campaign manager, often boasted about how the Obama 2012 effort would be the most data-driven campaign ever. But what that truly meant the extent to which the campaign used the newest tech tools to look into peoples lives and the sheer amount of personal data its vast servers were crunching remained largely shrouded. The secrecy around the operation was partly because the presidents strategists wanted to maintain their competitive edge. But it was also no doubt because they worried that practices like data mining and analytics could make voters uncomfortable...
As the denizens of the cave were setting out to do that, the digital-analytics team, led by Rayid Ghani, a 35-year-old research scientist from Accenture Labs, developed an idea: Why not try sifting through self-described supporters Facebook pages in search of friends who might be on the campaigns list of the most persuadable voters? Then the campaign could ask the self-identified supporters to bring their undecided friends along. The technique, as they saw it, could also get supporters to urge friends to register to vote, to vote early or to volunteer and donate...
The campaign didnt go into much detail, at the time, about exactly how it used Facebook...
But there was the potentially politically explosive matter of privacy. Unlike Facebook, where users were at least giving the campaign explicit permission to collect personal data even if they had not read the fine print...
A few weeks ago, Wagner announced he was starting a new firm called Civis Analytics with an investment from Eric Schmidt, the Google executive chairman, who was a technology adviser during the campaign...

Just ears
He also blackmailed them to his political advantage and intimidated them with violent protesters
Maybe. Simpler: Romney is UniParty. He was supposed to put on a show but lose. When Soetoro was exposed, Romney had to throw the match more obviously.
Not specifically. Ears were safe. Rodeo clown lost career.
That's what Mueller's investigation is. 1) By going beyond any lawful authorization, he and his crew are defrauding the United States; 2) by corruptly spoliating evidence and covering up Democrat crimes, and billing the government for the work, they are defrauding the United States.
Mueller, Obama, Hillary and Holder each made millions selling US uranium to Putin.
They were 100% certain Hillary would win and provide cover for their helping Putin.
When Trump won they had to accuse him of what they did.
Mueller was the FBI Director who told his agents to stand down when Benghazi was attacked. He is also involved in Uranium One. How is this guy investigating anyone much less a President?
I agree with Rush that the scandal is illegal surveillance. I don’t agree that Mueller is the coverup. I think he was put in place to hound Trump. That is all about he can do. Was it on purpose or by accident? It was obvious that Comey needed to go for violating DOJ guidelines by pardoning Hillary in the email matter. When Comey was fired, Rosenstein wilted right to political pressure and hired Mueller at the urging of Rino politicians like McCain and Graham. We know Rosenstein thought there might be something to the Russian nonsense, because he signed a 3rd or 4th fake FISA renewal request.
Glad Rush reads the Treehouse!
