Remember when we used to blame the killer for the killings? Yeah, so long ago. Now we have so much misinformation by MSM and the LW, we no longer know who to blame for anything anymore. We have lost our way as a nation

Meaghan will be disowned by her dad if she keeps defending Trumps position

The shooter is to blame.

End of story.

Proving the Left wants gun confiscation, not realistic solutions stemming from informed discussion.

This just hit me as I read this:

There is a war on boys in our public school culture. It looks like a small number of those boys are shooting back.

i.e. the problem is not the guns. The problem is the boys doing this. And when you look at how our schools now treat boys, maybe, just maybe we might want to re-think our current direction.

I suspect that would make more difference than the ludicrous “gun control” solutions being offered.

Looking at the possibility of giving concealed guns to gun adept teachers ...

Is that the plan, to give them guns? Why heck, no need for that at all. Just allow adept teachers, who already have guns, to bring them in. IOW, Tear Down That "Gun Free Zone" sign.

Stop it, you’re being too rational.

While I agree most teachers prefer teaching to be their only responsibility, there are some realists among teachers that can admit that they are the final line of protection for their students and some have died doing that. In FL, it was 3 with the assistant football coach being the most notable. In Newtown CT, it was 6 staff members killed with the 20 students. In my mind, I just imagine that most of these victims wished they had a tool to use in those final, desperate moments. They might have denied such a desire when it was merely a theoretical discussion. Reality intrudes and the theoretical recedes to expose how impractical that position always was.

We need to stop focusing an one-size-fits-all solutions.

In South Chicago where bad guys with guns are everywhere and everyone know someone who’s been shot, “less guns” means fewer deaths. (Getting rid of guns is a different question.) Laws, metal detectors at schools, and other limits are good. Teachers carrying is likely to do more harm than good (they become a target for a kid who wants a gun)

In rural Alabama where the biggest concern could be a redneck-hating-nut coming to town and shooting up a church, “more guns” means less risk.

The discussion is useless unless we make distinctions between the mass random shootings and the targeted or gang shootings. And the different areas with large % of capable “good guy” gun owners vs those areas where most of the “good guys” are afraid of guns.

We need to support local decisions on how to best protect their school, not have a federal mandates and laws that make people feel good about “doing something” (mostly people who’s kids are at safe or private schools not at risk).

Shhhh. You don’t want to say that too loud. The left will try to ban boys.

I’ve only seen a few “View” videos on youtube. I’m sorry, but that show is like watching the “womenfolk” in the movie, “The Music Man” sitting around during a quilting bee discussing quantum physics as if they think they have a clue what they are talking about.

i.e. I just can’t take them seriously.

“Meaghan will be disowned by her dad if she keeps defending Trumps position”

Not a problem, because Meghan’s mother has all the money. John has been a “kept man” ever since he divorced his first wife ( who was crippled by a car accident) and married Cindy. She is the heir to one of the largest beer distributorships in the country, in a state where two thirds of the year it’s hotter than Hell!

She shoulda looked Hostin and company in the eye and asked if their kids go to “ gun free” schools- and if they would veto armed security at those schools and just rely on calling 911 if a nutter like Cruz threatened to shoot them up.

Fact is rich liberals and their families are almost all protected at all times by armed security

Name one child from a rich lib family that goes to a “ gun free” school

Seems like in South Chicago the city with some of the nation’s toughest gun laws - that schools are safer than the streets

You gonna tell me the Chicago public schools do not have police or armed security in their halls? Have there been more mass shootings at the inner city schools that are guarded by onsite people with guns? Or at white liberal suburban “ gun free” schools?

anyone who has a concealed carry weapons rating is also trained in not having her weapon stolen by some punk who can buy a piece on the street from his earnings as a drug lookout

I'm saying Chicago probably needs that. Rural Alabama schools probably don't. A federal regulation mandating it (or disallowing it) would be bad. And requiring x% of the teachers carrying can happen tomorrow in many districts with comfortable teachers (even for a very high X). But would take much training in other districts and would result with some teachers who don't feel comfortable even after training.
