On the other hand, The Wall will solve very few problems.
We already have 13 million legal immigrants with Green Cards.
Each year 750,000 of them will become voting citizens, and 80% of them will vote for the Democrat Party.
The Wall will stop only one half of the new illegals. The other half will "visit" the USA legally, and just never leave.
Chain Migration is still “unlimited,” and the only way we can stop that is to amend the INA (1965), which will take 60 votes in the Senate.
Each year about 500,000 more Republicans die than Democrats die.
And one half of 18 year old voters are non-white, and they vote 80% for the Democrat Party.
Bottom Line - without radical political surgery on our immigration policies, Trump will be the last Republican president in our lifetime.
Not only should Trump ship the DACA ‘kids’ back where they belong, with the parents in tow.
He should start bringing in educated people from around the world who are both at risk, and have skills to offer and a culture that is at least somewhat a match to our own.
Many DACA ‘kids’ will speak fluent English and have a bright future, we should get them back as soon as possible! We need upright, smart people. BUT NO CHAIN MIGRATION! For a limited number of extraordinarily skilled DACA ‘kids’ a small stipend to keep them whole while awaiting the right to return might be a good investment.
I don’t give a shit what color valuable immigrants are! But they must not adhere to beliefs that are antithetical to US law and custom!
I nominate Christian families from the ME, and white South Africans..they are in grave danger!
The rule should be, NO WELFARE for the new arrivals, they must speak English, have no criminal record, be in good health, and any immediate family members must all meet the same requirements unless they are small children.
No preference should be given to peoples from any particular region or race.... everyone just has to compete on merit.
If a person has very valuable needed skills then a settlement allowance would be a good investment likely to return value many fold to the US... I have NO PROBLEM doling out moneys for that! i.e. A skilled Thoracic Surgeon who was needed would be a great person to invest a few bucks in!
If any new arrival commits a serious crime they go back and their family as well unless the family will be self-sustaining without the missing member.
If Trump’s economic plans are allowed to be implemented we will need more skilled workers!
E-Verify is good! But another method is also very useful...make it a SERIOUS felony to hire an illegal, or an H1B resident and pay them a lower wage than their US citizen counterpart! Large fines for hiring illegals is fine, but it must be jail time for paying any illegal a lower wage!
The COC wants illegals simply because business can pay them less and let the taxpayer make up the difference in food-stamps etc. NO MORE!
If any nation refuses to accept the return of criminal illegal aliens from their country then all transfer of monies from their workers in the US back to their country should be taxed at 35% and the money used to pay for the expense of incarcerating the criminals they refuses to accept!
The wall should encompass free-trade zones... industrial parks should be placed at appropriate places along the border against the southern wall. A northern wall will be the cannot cross barrier.
Within the trade zone companies would be allowed to hire Mexican nationals at a lower wage to do work that most Americans will not desire to do once Trump greatly improves the economy. This will allow us to drastically cut the trade surplus with China! We are talking about manufacture of items like clothing, trinkets, processing poultry, etc. We are not talking about manufacture of automobile transmissions for example.....that belongs back in places like Detroit with highly-payed US workers.
The Mexican workers in the trade zones could get a leg-up on being allowed to immigrate to the US, so long as they develop a needed skill set, speak perfect English and have a squeaky clean criminal record.
A lot of thing would be different in a booming economy...many of the old immigration axioms would no longer be valid.
My simple rules on immigration are.
-NO illegal alien criminals allowed at all.
-No automatic chain-migration.
-Merit-based with ZERO preference or discrimination of any race.
-No birthright citizenship for babies of illegals.
-No acceptance of the seriously ill...we CANNOT afford to care for all of Mexico’s diabetic patients for example!.. I saw this first hand at clinics in El Paso.
-NO WELFARE of any sort for immigrants!
-English proficiency REQUIRED.
-Alien children MUST graduate HS.
-NO SSI for elderly immigrant elders who did not pay into the system..their family must care for their every need.

There are so many claims about what he has promised to do, whizzing around out there, it’s just comical to try to nail one down.
How many times have we heard, he’s not going to do the wall?
How many times have we heard he’s going to cave on DACA?
How many times has he said, he won’t do it?
I get a kick out of watching folks jump up and down screaming their heads off about things, and then 24-48 hours later, NEVERMIND...

With the backstabbing GOP, the no-border dems and Trump publicly stating he wants DACA, it’d be a miracle if DACA is busted.
Let DACA expire; do not press for reforms at this time but rigorously enforce current laws.

He's not going to cave on it.......unless they give him ‘everything’ he wants.....and even if people get their pants in a knot if he does, they forget too easily Trumps ‘moves’ need to ride for a time before he makes his ultimate move.... Trumps Immigration as a whole package they have to vote FOR!
President Trump has put the dems between a rock and a hard place. If the dems don’t deliver on DACA, there will be a lot of the base that sits 2018 out. They don’t care about what President Trump wants in exchange, they want their work permit status to continue. They don’t really care about citizenship. They want to make some bucks, get social security and live good in the old country.

I think Trump is sincere and he really wants DACA. That’s why I think he’ll screw Americans on this. Hey it’s not the first time. Remember his “you’d be in jail” morphed into “I don’t want to divide the country” out-of-jail card for Hillary?
Waiting for him to tweet something like “There’s always room for more Jello”....
