The Trump administration is imposing tariffs on imported solar panels and washing machines. The announcement marks President Trump's first major trade action of 2018 and follows his campaign promise to get tough on America's trading partners.
A tariff, or tax, of 30% will be applied to imported solar panels, most of which come from China. Tariffs will begin at 20% on large residential washing machines, according to the announcement Monday from U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer.
"The President's action makes clear again that the Trump Administration will always defend American workers, farmers, ranchers, and businesses in this regard," Lighthizer said in a statement.
The decision comes after the independent U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) determined that imports of solar panels and washers had hurt American companies. Tariffs will be in place for three years and will taper down.
Alan Deardorff, a trade expert at the University of Michigan, said these temporary tariffs are meant to provide "breathing room" for industries trying to adjust to a surge in foreign competition.

No idea..we use the Cascade Complete packs(Similar packs to the Tide ones those idiot kids keep on chewing on) either that or Jetdry..always has a chalky film and I have to rinse each cup and dish to get rid of it
You get around the tariffs by building in country of sale.
So simple.
Why didn’t GHWB, Clinton, GWB or the keynan cokehead muslim twink think of that?
Yea for us!
This may not help you, but I had the same problem years ago and tried a detergent with TSP. It was like magic and never had the problem again. The enviros got TSP withdrawn years ago for alleged environmental impact. However, I have read that TSP can still be bought for some commercial applications and people get a supply and mix it into regular detergents.
Which one do you recommend that has TSP..not sure if I could even find it..the stupid techs that come out here from Frigidare all say its an issue with the water supply from the city(Im in LA) its either that or the dishwasher is a pile of poo
Those guys were just too busy selling the United States out.
Whirlpool and Maytag are the same company these days (also KitchenAid, Amana, and Jenn-Air). They get a 100% rating for homosexual advocacy. It took some looking, but it looks like the washing machines are made in Clyde, Ohio.
See my post 20 in this thread. They aren’t made in China - they come from lower cost countries.
Interesting question... we have Samsung front loaders..5 years old, never had a problem. I assumed that all washing machines are made in China/Korea.
Sick of “top loaders” running like “front loaders”. Takes FOREVER to run a load.
Actually it's probably because your government approved dish washing detergent no longer includes phosphates.
I doubt a retail customer can buy a combined product (TSP + detergent) anymore. That is why I mentioned buying TSP (usually for heavy duty outside cleaning) and then mixing it with a detergent). There is one product named Cascade Fryer Boil Out but it is for commercial business uses only. Not sure what California would allow.
It is likely your water supply. You might want to get an analysis kit (cheap) and send a sample off for analysis. (Included in kit.)
GE sold off their appliance division to the French decades ago. Currently ‘GE’ appliances are made by Thomson of France.
Bubble Bandit products, for dishwashers and clothes washers. I got mine on Amazon.
Might give that a try and see what happens
Its a good start.
The are assembled in America. Thats it.
White vinegar. I stop my machine JUST after it fills for the first rinse, pour a cup of vinegar in, and close it back up. Takes a lot of the white film and blowback off. Not perfect - but as close as we can likely get these days.
Will try that.I know we have tried just adding vinegar which did not help at all but maybe the trick is stopping the machine after it fills for the first time then adding the vinegar. My sister has the exact same dishwasher and her dishes/cups are clean as a whistle she doesnt do anything special to it
Thank you for the information. I did not know they still made any of their appliances here.
