After Paterno and company were informed that Sandusky was showering with a child did any of them ever investigate into the well being of the child? I’m not talking about making a report or contacting authorities. Did any of that gang ever seek out the child personally contact his parents, ensure that that child was ok?
That was the one thing that has always stuck in my mind. I just can’t fathom the callousness.
I'll admit that I don't recall doing the things Sandusky would call playful with anyone across generations but I certainly horsed around in showers with other kids as a child.
I got the impression from Pendergrat's book that Sandusky and Paterno didn't really get along. It would seem strange to me, especially after Sandusky retired from coaching in 1999, that Paterno would have done anything to protect Sandusky including looking the other way if he thought Sandusky was molesting children anywhere, but particularly at his Penn State facilities.
The callousness you cannot fathom only makes sense if you buy the media narrative. If Penn State people thought little or nothing about Sandusky horsing around with kids, then there was no callousness.
Did you check out the links I suggested?

Of course, there was a lot discussed that I knew but John made two points that I hadn't considered before. The first was that none of the supposed victims testified to having been abused when in a shower in the Sandusky home, which would have been a much safer place for such activity than the Penn State showers. (Some did claim to have been abused in Sandusky's basement playroom.) And the other point is that none of the testifying supposed victims turned out to be a homosexual. (Sandusky supposedly broke up a teenage affair that his adopted son, who later turned again him, was having.)
It's worth listening to, if you want a good overview about the case.
