Disney Outlines Brand New “Security Measures” That Has People Refusing to Attend Resorts
Conservative Tribune ^ | 12/28/17 | Kimberly J Smith

Disney has updated security policies at several of its resorts in Orlando’s Walt Disney World, but not everyone is happy about it.

Three of the Resort Hotels — the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Polynesian Village Resort and Contemporary Resort with its Bay Lake Tower — have already seen the tighter measures in place, which include the removal of the “Do Not Disturb” door sign.

The signs have been replaced with “Room Occupied” door hangers, which will alert maintenance and Disney staff that guests are currently in their rooms, but will not stop staff from coming in.

This could be interesting. It might even inspire a new Disney movie:

“The Adventures of the Maid from Guatemala”

Who’ll no doubt be recording everything and posting it on social media a few hours later.

Really dumb on their part to take away “Do Not Disturb” signs. Puts the cleaning staff in bad situations. Why do this?

They should hang the “Do Not Disturb” signs on their alligators...

It is not the wording of the signs that makes any real difference, whether the sign says “Do Not Disturb” or “Room Occupied”. It is the Disney policy as to how the staff are suppose to behave when the sign - either sign - is displayed.

It is that policy, not the wording of the signs that is real difference.

Friggin’ Disney should have been sued out of business over the death of that child. It still makes me sick to my stomach and angry as hell thinking about that.

Are they going to remove the inside door clips that prevent the door from opening?

We’ve lived an hour and a half from Disneyworld for over 15 years. Never been there and have no plans to.

I don’t blame you.

It’s probably the same as going on a cruise.

Why give up total control over your personal comfort and security?

Note to Disney.

Install airport style luggage scanners, and require ALL luggage to be “checked in” with delivery to the room by hotel staff. Allow one piece of hand-carry luggage to be scanned separately and returned directly to the guest, for them to carry themselves.

Then get rid of the policy that has Disney presuming all guests in their rooms are guilty until proven innocent.

NO WAY would I EVER stay in a hotel when someone could just walk in my room unannounced and catch me doing something nobody has any business intruding on.

And just wait until the first maid is shot by someone who is planning a massacre.

Maybe they think America's Funniest Secretly Recorded Hotel Sex Tapes can save the ratings at ABC.

Yeah, Disney could behave in a more civil manner toward its customer base but it’s going to be a lot more fun for the rest of us this way.

Disney has been off my list of places/companies to support for years now.
