Haven’t read the article but my understanding is that collusion in this context is not a crime but something made up by the left. The actual crime would be conspiracy.

Let us begin at the beginning. Before Donald Trump became President Trump, the FBI was looking into connections between the Russian government and the Trump campaign.
Yes, there have been charges as a result of Meuller's investigation, but not regarding what the investigation was even about. The charges are a "result" of the investigation.
NBC says "let us begin at the beginning" and then immediately, because there is no evidence of anything happening at the beginning, fast forward to the firing of Comey by Trump as President. What happened to beginning at the beginning?
Also, at this point, it won't be about "charges". This is now only about impeachment. Thus, if the roles were swapped and Hillary was President and Comey said his piece about Hillary and her "reckless conduct" as the result of a post election investigation, but did not recommend charging her with an offense, she could still be impeached based on the "finding". That appears to be the goal of the Dems here, to take whatever Mueller says and run with it, no matter what it is, and impeach Trump.
The media’s biggest conundrum for 2018 will be the slow realization that they can’t prosecute Trump for any crime that was not committed, while finally recognizing that Hillary broke many laws with no prosecution.
They’ve invested hundreds, maybe thousands of hours in this fake news.

Trump will not be charged with any actual crime, but with obstruction of justice (for a non-existent crime). This was always the objective.
Since collusion is not a crime, NBC news is basically admitting that the Mueller appointment was purely political.
Doesn’t mean Mueller is going away anytime soon. He has now focused his attention on possible Obstruction of Justice charges, and Logan act violations, instead. Hopefully those forthcoming reports from Congress and the DOJ OIG will result in a special prosecutor to investigate the special prosecutor, although Sessions may need to go before it can be appointed.
Let's be clear, the Russian "interference" was a handful of Russian social media bloggers. The real "interference" comes from fake news and our own MSM.
