Youths are more libertarian. His friends seen gays and transgendered people, it doesn’t affect them like it does us, because we never met them in our youth.

Au contraire. Dunno how old you are, but I'm a Gen Xer and that stuff was already out in the 70s when I was a kid. Met a cross dresser at my cousin's house. Homosexuality was on TV (remember SOAP?). There was rampant divorce, abortion, Phil Donahue, clergy and teacher molestation. Sexual license was all over the place in the 70s when I was a kid, and I watched people's lives get ruined because of it.

And today's youth ought to rid themselves post-haste of that asinine "we're smarter than previous generations so you need to appeal to us" mentality that first took hold among the Boomers. You're not smarter. You haven't seen enough in your short lives to really understand what is going on in society...how the "live and let live" mentality actually plays out over a lifetime. Your "gay" friends are still young and fabulous and living it up in their prime, and they haven't yet been vomited out of the club scene and degenerated into sad, lonely old men preying on the young and vulnerable.

Whether young people understand this or not, they need to hear it. The so-called "Sexual Revolution" was a big mistake from start to finish, and I will go to my grave the avowed enemy of any philosophy which allows for or excuses sexual "experimentation" of any sort outside of marriage.

Perhaps you can ask me to make the case in a better way to young people, but no way am I going to deny what I know for a fact just to remain "relevant." If conservatism is going in an "accept homosexuality as normal and natural" route, then conservatism has become a tool of the devil, and you can leave me out of it.

I’m a late baby boomer, so I guess I’m a little older. In my hometown, the blacks were mostly in the southwestern part of town. Until the 6th grade, I never had a black as a classmate, that is until Thomas moved to town. His dad was VP of Travelers so they bought a new house, about 1/2 mile from my house. A year later, I got my first Hispanic classmate (and his family moved to a new house next to my black classmate. It was a new housing development.). I never met a gay people until college and I heard of Transgender when Rene Richards wanted to play tennis pro as a female.
