We’ll probably hear about it - lots of folks getting their digs in it to try to claim they “made it better” as they erode some aspects of it. When I said Trump tended to leverage success, I meant he will twist arms/nipples and anything else available once he knows he’s in the driver’s seat - this is a whole different deal to at least get a start on that which most politicians try to avoid like the plague.
Sure. But McCain is playing the same game, albeit for selfish, spiteful reasons.
No doubt - he can’t help himself any more than a scorpion can.....same goes for the majority of pols...they are not driven by a desire to serve the People.
The genius of the Constitution was that by pitting ambitious, self-absorbed men of high intellect and ability against each other, they produce results beneficial to the common good. The stupidity of Communism is that in the name of the common good, they concentrate power in the hands of one man, and he distributes the goodies to his pals, who become fewer in number as he kills them off. What we are seeing nowadays is something other than either extreme. The result is that you have ambitious men already in power fighting to maintain their power, and trying their best to undermine anything that would forward the common good, because they don’t like Trump and don’t want him taking credit for any successes. It’s an anomaly and has got no parallel in American politics. Perhaps in ancient Rome?
Yep - once it became obvious that politics could be leveraged for personal power/gain, it started drawing all the wrong sort of charlatans to “serve the People”....might be noted that the Roman Empire started going downhill after it instituted the Dole to allow “artists/entertainers” to do their thing w/o having to actually contribute to the society in a substantial way.
