The sampling error isnt greater than 7% but for most demographics hovers around 4% (rounded).
It was a poll of both landlines and cellphones, roughly equally represented.
For me the most concerning (given the caveat above) is that Independents seem to be breaking for Jones. Also, perhaps most shockingly, of those asked do you trust or mistrust the government more? Those who answered mistrust more support Jones! Those who support Moore answered trust the government more! Whats up with that?
That particular response leads me to believe Moores support may be softer than Jones. There are other analyses that give me pause in the report linked.
Thoughts? Additional analyses?
I think we should be doubling down support for Moore. You can donate to his cause here: https://www.roymoore.org/Support-Judge-Moore/ if you havent done so already or wish to do so again. If you live in Alabama, Id consider donating some volunteer time.
Dont take this for granted just because Alabama is an historically red state! Take nothing for granted in this war against leftism!
Trump’s guy didn’t win, so Moore is going down.
Accurate poll?
Only ¡YEB! could have beaten Hillary. She won is a landslide.
Or not.
A growing percentage of Americans don’t answer calls from numbers they don’t know. That entire demographic is unsampled.
They can’t know.
Well --- Republicans run the government and Moore is a Republican. That's how many people see these things and many don't even know what a deep-state is.
I am surprised at the results of this poll and I hope it is a wake-up call for the Moore camp. Moore's positives also can be negatives. I realize there is a chunk out there that got burnt out at Moore's stubbornness on the 10 commandments monument issue when it became hopeless. But these poll results are sobering. If Doug Jones were to somehow win this election it would be a big failure for the Republicans and Trump.
Daron Shaw is the R pollster. A Bushie and a fraud who was outed numerous times for anti-Trump bias. In what world is Alabama a close race.
Don’t buy this one for a second... but we will see
Polls, smolls! They’re not worth a sh*t! Especially, Faux Snooze polls.
Jeff Sessions should have stayed in the Senate.
He was more effective there and we wouldn’t be worrying about some Planned Parenthood loving Democrat even trying to run for the Seat.
In the last Election Jeff Sessions ran unopposed.
I call Hillary Push Pollling BS!!!
Three polls out in the last few days all have Moore up 8 but 4 days later it’s tied? By Moore losing 6 points of support.
Absolute crap,don’t buy this nonsense
I dont believe it and could care less what swampwater media reports.
This is only one poll, FOX NEWS.
Here they have averaged three polls:
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2017/senate/al/alabama_senate_special_election_moore_vs_jones-6271.html
And they get:
RCP Average 9/27 - 10/16 — — 46.7 42.3 Moore +4.4
FOX News 10/14 - 10/16 801 RV 3.5 42 42 Tie
JMC Analytics 9/30 - 10/1 500 LV 4.4 48 40 Moore +8
Opinion Savvy 9/27 - 9/28 590 LV 4.0 50 45 Moore +5
Roy will win this race.
we have a horse race!
turn in to Fox News for daily information on this razor tight race (at least until the final days when it will miraculously show Moore surging) *cough* *cough*
Alabama is going to elect a Democrat sure Faux Nees sure.
It’s not likely voters? It’s of limited utility then.42% is about the rat base in Bama.
“A Fox News Poll also finds that among just the 53 percent of Alabama registered voters who are extremely or very interested in the race, Jones has a one-point edge over Moore (46-45 percent).”
I never of heard this “very interested” thing. How does that compare to likely voters?
I think they must be overestimating Black turnout. White liberals may be motivated but there aren’t many of them in Bama.
Polls seem to skew all over the place but that’s no excuse to sit on our butts - I live in MS but have been donating to Moore since he entered the ring - if folks really want him to win, sitting on their thumbs and hoping won’t cut it.....
For Jones to beat Moore it would mean pro-life, pro marriage, pro 2nd amendment republicans would have to vote in droves for a baby killing, queer marriage 2nd amendment hating democrat. Hell will freeze over first.
