He only fired for 10 minutes? Police were there very quickly after the shots stopped but hung around for nearly an hour before entering the room? Did I misread? Why the delay?

Just heard on Hannity that he put 200 rounds down that hallway. I’m sure that slowed the responce a bit. Also, they used the wounded security guard’s master key to clear the other rooms on the floor, which probably also took some time.
Police arrived in 12 minutes after the first call. The shooting had stopped by then. It was only when they found the wounded hotel security officer on the 32nd floor that they got the exact room number (from him).
The shooting lasted 10 minutes, 10:05-10:15 PM. Police arrived at 10:17 PM according tot he LV Police Chief.
Clear the floor of other people in rooms in case of booby traps, blow the building or him coming out shooting, sheetrock walls
the delay was because he had stopped shooting and they wanted to get a swat team up there to blow the door. He had unloaded over 200 rounds at the unarmed security guard, so they weren’t going to send one guy through the door with a revolver. If he had started shooting again before swat got there, something different might have happened.
