President Trump turned on the NFL commissioner this evening, after Roger Goodell spoke out about the president condemning players who kneel in protest during the national anthem and calling on team owners to fire those players.

In a tweet, Trump said Goodell is "trying to justify the total disrespect certain players show to our country."

Wait until the ratings drop even more.....then the NFL will have to give back hundreds of millions if not abillion in ad revenue payments to the networks.

Guess what NFL players.....the salary cap for the teams is based upon a percentage of the total NFL revenue...I do not remember what that percentage is but for the the sake of the argurment lets day the players have negotiated 43% of all NFL revenue goes to the players’ salaries.

That is divided between 31 32 teams (do not remember how many teams there are) and that is your salary cap per team.

If NFL revenue goes down by a 500 million....multiply 500 million .43 then divide it by 32 teams....that is how much money the players are losing.

In my scenario the players would have lost 215 million...ablut 6.7 million per team.

That will get their attention.

To save football, the nfl must be destroyed.

I fully support their right to write articles and attend protests. What I reject is the idea that if I pay to see a game, I must first be subjected to their hatred for our country - and their racism!

I’d boycott the NFL, but I started doing that in the 90s.

Amen to that. Gave up NFL a few years ago. The only thing I’ve watched is Super Bowl the last few years. I can swear that off as well.

Goodell is never going to learn anything, or gain any insights, against the leftist establishment!

It is in his DNA! His father was a congressman from western New York who was appointed Senator by Governor Rockefeller to fill Senator Robert Kennedy’s seat in 1968. Senator Charles Goodell, while a nominal Republican, was a peacenik marching against the Vietnam War. Senator Goodell lost a three-way race for re-election in his own right in 1970. James L. Buckley, of the Conservative Party, was elected Senator.

Roger Goodell is obviously a very deeply committed leftist. His reaction against Trump was instinctive, and is reminiscent of his father’s stand against President Nixon.

Here is a 2014 Washington post article about Senator Goodell:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2014/09/11/roger-goodells-father-was-a-senator-and-he-lost-his-seat-because-he-opposed-the-vietnam-war/?utm_term=.23f67fff0ad4

I urge people to read this article to get insight into Roger Goodell.

If they don’t want to stand and respect the flag, they should stay in the locker room during the National Anthem. Without the fans support, they don’t get paid & the fans want to see a good football game & not their SJW tantrums.

Yup. No crystal ball here. The NFL is putting itself above the the flag of the United States. They are gonna lose big. Anyone financially tied to them is also going to lose big.

Wait, WHAT? The owners are responding to the POTUS?

How about responding to their own players and their behavior?

How does someone get to the level of billionaire NFL team owner, selling a product, yet insist they HATE their own customers, who made them billionaires in the first place?

the Great Carsini forsees that there will be many empty seats tomorrow.

Thanks for the link to the owners’ statements. Have I awakened into the world of insanity? A banana republic?

The essence of the 7 owner comments thus far is that by the President (by speaking out so in defense of the country) is the divisive one but those disrespecting the National Anthem are not, but rather of “good character” and wanting to “start a national conversation” - but they aren’t insulting or divisive - i.e. the NFL is vicariously insulting its fans. The President minced no words - and spoke in terms that jocks and their limp-wristed owners and coaches can understand.

OK NFL owners, you started the “conversation” by allowing players to use your business platform to insult millions of Americans who pay your wages. Why should you be immune from their criticism, including the President? How does it feel to be “insulted” - explain how standing up for the America is an insult? Why would you want to be fed by the hand that your players whom you allow to openly despise? Are you guys really that stupid? Are you paying them to show up, stand up and play football - or to do something else? You brought it on yourselves by insulting millions - the “forgotten ones”. This is how free speech works. You are now a participant in the political arena, you started the conversation but you don’t get to control it - don’t lecture us, let alone the President, on the phony goodness of your brand when can’t see a scintilla of goodness in this country worthy of its defense. You should have been telling your players that - not us. And you had at least one player quit the game and go to Afghanistan and die for his country after 911. You insult him too. Your brand stinks now. You go ahead and stick with your now overpaid anti-American guys, let’s see if it was the right things to do.

BTW - can’t wait to see the groundswell of race-hustling Dem politicians run to support the oppressed millionaire entertainers in the name of social justice.

Goodell wasted an opportunity to stand up for his country. He confirmed he could care less about his product becoming offensive to a large number of fans.

I speculate that from Goodell's perspective he doesn't want the NFL associated with the United States. He wants to expand the league into Europe. So he is willing to take a hit on US revenues if it means he can present the league as more Globally acceptable.

Football was just fine before the NFL and will be better after the NFL than it is with it.
