Its not just crazy places like the University of California at Berkeley where surprisingly large numbers of U.S. college students believe that violence and shouting are acceptable methods to prevent people from saying things. Fifty-one percent of all U.S. college students believe shouting is an acceptable response to free speech, and one in five (19 percent) believe violence is an acceptable response, according to results from a national survey of 1,500 students in 49 states and DC.
Fifty-three percent of survey respondents said colleges should create a positive learning environment for all students by prohibiting certain speech or expression of viewpoints that are offensive or biased against certain groups of people rather than create an open learning environment where students are exposed to all types of speech and viewpoints, even if it means allowing speech that is offensive or biased against certain groups of people.

My question for these college cupcakes is simply this: “Are you willing to put your life on the line for your beliefs?”. As a vet and an Oathkeeper, I am.
This is what a generation raised on participation awards looks like. It will take another generation to clean this up. But these kids are lost.
Reality is a cruel teacher.
The fruits of the public school system and bubble-wrap parenting.
I would suggest that the real world outside of college would correct this, but that real world has become much to accommodating of safe spaces, “offensive” language, grievance groups and other foul bilge.
Of the 1,500 respondents, 697 identified a Democrats, 261 as Republicans, and 431 as Independents. Another 111 respondents stated Dont Know when asked to state their political affiliation. Of the 1,500 respondents, 1,116 are students at public institutions, and 384 are students at private institutions. This public/private split of 74 percent/36 percent among respondents approximately mirrors the split in the broader undergraduate population.
He doesn't say what schools, nor does he say how the students were contacted. For example, did he distribute the questionnaires through the Black Student Alliance, the Football team, or the Student Government? Clearly there is a very strong leftist skew.
High Rates Of U.S. College Students Support Violence...To Stop Free Speech
That’s a sure way to cut short your budding career...and possibly your life.
I would say let them fail and learn from that, but a key aspect of the snowflake culture is that the right to fail has been prohibited. So failure, as us oldsters know it, is no longer a viable teaching tool.
This is the kind of thinking that will lead us back to tyranny.
Or beat them into “politeness”.
Damned right.
With their admission, turnabout is fair play.
There’s also the issue that respondents could reasonably believe that giving the non-politically-correct answer could result in them being targeted as “racist neo-Nazis”.
Here’s an article in Salon (which I saw on Facebook) arguing that right wing free speech isn’t really free speech but paid propaganda... so it’s ok to suppress it.

Watch what you wish for, snowflakes. We have voices — and fists — too.
Can they keep a beat?
Snowflakes have never been taught that quality. Sad
