"I did not realize, however, that YOU are the arbiter of what is acceptable or unacceptable here."

I did not realize that either. Where did you get the silly idea that posting under multiple names was an acceptable thing to do?

"I suspect that if I was posting messages that you AGREED with, you would never utter one peep of disapproval — right?"

Wrong. I enjoy talking about both, or even many, sides of many issues and unlike in your case, I highly respect many FReepers with whom I disagree on most issues. I'm not a one trick pony, like you. Check my posting history. I've checked yours, troll.

Well, Garth, you are wrong on multiple counts.

1. First, the only reason I was posting under different names here is because I was having login problems — perhaps because I purchased new computers twice in a 2 year period — and I didn’t remember all my previous information.

2. Second, I respect and welcome principled debate about any subject and I have posted hundreds of messages online about all sorts of subject matters.

3. Third — with respect to my interest in the JBS — what you apparently do not know is this:

(a) The JBS is one of the very few right-wing or extreme right organizations in our country that has survived for over 5 decades. Most of the organizations created in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s are now defunct. Examples: Minutemen, Americanism Educational League, Christian Crusade, American Council of Christian Laymen, Church League of America, Americans For Constitutional Action, Congress of Freedom, National Economic Council, National Renaissance Party, National States Rights Party, Patriots Leadership Conference, Posse Comitatus, Soldiers of the Cross, Liberty Lobby, Liberty and Property Inc., United White People’s Party, We-The Mothers Mobilize For America, and literally DOZENS of others.

(b) Very few extreme right organizations ever received significant income — and certainly not the MILLIONS of dollars which the JBS had available almost every year of its existence. Even fewer extreme right organizations were able to boast that they had several BILLIONAIRES as members and as regular financial contributors.

(c) NONE of the other extreme right organizations were able (like the JBS) to create a very large Speakers Bureau and a very large bookstore chain — nor did those other organizations create a subsidiary which published or reprinted and sold HUNDREDS of book titles.

(d) NONE of those other extreme right organizations ever created a University —as did the JBS (Robert Welch University) and NONE of them published a weekly or bi-weekly news magazine plus a monthly magazine whose circulation was in the tens of thousands.

(e) Consequently, the JBS is an exceptionally UNIQUE presence in our country and it has attracted as members or as endorsers, and as speakers and writers — scores of exceptionally prominent people — some of whom you would probably be shocked to discover. EXAMPLE: Warren Buffet’s father (Cong. Howard Buffet) was a JBS member. So was the grandson of President Teddy Roosevelt AND the JBS also had numerous major political figures involved in the JBS.

(f) None of this may be of interest to you — but there is very little factual knowledge available about the history or impact of the JBS — because
(1) many of its members do not acknowledge that they are JBS members and
(2) the JBS does not allow outside independent researchers to have access to its archives or its membership for research purposes.

HOWEVER: there are some instances when you will see JBS members around the country posting inflammatory or intolerant messages online on many different websites (including here in FR) and, often, their messages contain total falsehoods.

I believe that facts matter. Accurate history matters.

I also believe that falsehoods circulated by political extremists should be challenged so that our fellow countrymen do not believe those falsehoods-—particularly when they are disseminated by political extremists (left or right).

I still maintain that if I posted messages which YOU believed conformed to your personal political preferences, then you would NEVER raise ANY concern about my messages.
