The problem is, if it misses FL, it’s going to be a direct hit on the Carolina’s.
I sure hope THEY have been prepping for it.

Lots of people in SW FL thought Hurricane Charley would ease on by for a sure-fire landfall into the Tampa Bay area. While those in SW FL were
always within the cone of uncertainty, it was obvious they would be watching the Category 4 storm wreak havoc and destruction on their neighbors to the north.
Imagine the shock and disbelief when Cat 4 Hurricane Charley made the turn and drove deep into SW FL, the NE up the peninsula, while Tampa Bay was spared all but some gusty breezes.
NHC response--SW FL was always in the cone--don't focus on the line in the middle.
